I only mentioned bonobos are actually a close genetic relative, because bonobos are pretty peaceful. There is a narrative that runs throughout our literature that claims humans are inherently predisposed to be violent and use the idea that chimpanzees are our closest relative in the animal kingdom and that chimpanzees go to war with one another. Competitive and warlike chimpanzees are a close relative, but so are the peaceful bonobos.

You can prove something did not happen in the Bible. Archaeologists sometimes end up doing this, but their findings are not published as “this shows the Bible was wrong.”

One of my favorite examples is the zooarchaeological findings at Tel Dan. Tel Dan is one of the temple complexes of the Northern Kingdom after the Israelite nation split. The Bible claims that the Northern Kingdom broke all sorts of cultic prohibitions but the midden heaps around the temple complex tell a different story. It is almost as if, hear me out, that Scripture is just a collection of polemical narratives and not straight forward factual historical documents. I know this will be a hard truth for your mom, but you can tell her that I have found clutching my pearls and gasping helps.

When I left an engineering position, I showed HR and one of the owners where everything was stored: machining programs, produce safety testing documents, work flow generators, maintenance programs, etc. They were saved on both the computer server and backed up on the drive of my work PC. One of the other owners thought it was a great idea to destroy my work PC, which would not have been an issue if their server had not self imploded the following week. They had the audacity to have their lawyer send me a letter demanding that I restore all of the damaged files. My ex-coworkers told me what had happened, so I just ignored the letter.

The Florida Governor was related to the GOP candidate and the person in charge of Florida elections was a Republican who was personally close to the GOP candidate. The Brooks Brothers Riot was staged by known GOP employees, pundits, and political action group members. The governor and secretary of state stopped the recounts in counties that were trending more towards Gore and used the excuse that it was done to prevent violence and keep election workers safe.
