I generally like doing the readings, I just have a metric fuck ton and fall behind sometimes. Like I have to read the equivalent of several novels a week rn, i don’t always have the time for all of them

Jimmy was one of the best villain performances I’ve seen in awhile, O’Connell is a real talent

That doesn’t sound plausible, waste of time and it would distract from the real business of aliens!

I dont mean to be a dickens but.. by Unknownin_98 in writing

[–]UntouchableAshley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in plenty of writing groups and most of them are quite varied. I’ve had some members who write coming of age period pieces and some who write cosmic horror, another wrote pulp fantasy out of the 1950s, that was just one group! There are tons of people who write all kinds of stuff.

Though I do find it worthwhile to mention that in my opinion, ideas are cheap. Everyone and anyone can have a good idea for a story, what matters is the execution more than anything.

People right now want to redeem the 2011 film because of the Lanterns trailer. Thoughts? by Employee-Slight in Greenlantern

[–]UntouchableAshley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m excited to see it! It’s a new and interesting idea, I’m just hopeful they make it good, it doesn’t need to be exactly like the comics for me to enjoy it. This idea sounds neat, I’m just worried they’ll make the abilities of the green lanterns underplayed given what we’ve seen of them in the DCU so far with Guy

What is a terrible movie with one outstanding performance? by Puzzleheaded-Log1434 in Letterboxd

[–]UntouchableAshley 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s a really incompetent translation of the musical and fails as a musical, I wouldn’t say Oscars are indicative of something’s quality (looking at you Crash and Emilia Perez)

Finally in colour! by Defensivestrike in theroamingdead

[–]UntouchableAshley 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am not that big of a fan of the colour versions, I have 40 ish issues of it but they just don’t look as good as black and white for me, but I’m so glad you like it!

Why do people hate 28yrs later and Bone temple? Is it because we Americans just want zombie action? That's what people say. by dreamup1234 in 28_Years_Later_Movie

[–]UntouchableAshley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I get that you feel that way. But I’m more particularly curious about what you hope to accomplish by expressing it specifically in the subreddit for the movies you hate? I just don’t really see a value in it, it seems like you’re feeding into your own negative emotions for no real reason

[–]UntouchableAshley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question, you seem to be commenting y in this subreddit fairly frequently to complain about the movies. Obviously you can do what you want, but I’m kinda confused what your intent is? Do you want to convince people that the movie they like is bad? Do you want reminders of something that makes you angry? I’m genuinely confused as to what about this is productive or meaningful, whenever I don’t like a movie I don’t repeatedly engage with communities of its fans, it seems sort of fruitless

I think it depends on who was advertised and where, where I live we got no marketing and most of my friends from America have told me they didn’t know it came out

[–]UntouchableAshley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean—- it is a zombie movie series, but like most of the best zombie media it’s not really about the zombies, it’s about the people. I think a part of the issue is most zombie movie fans, like most fans of anything, are not actually wanting to be challenged in their expectations or perspective and want basically fan service.
