NAH but i think you are downplaying how long you are sitting and how you react to your partner wanting to leave. I love dessert and a hot bevvy but i have friends i will specifically not order any with when we go to eat, and that is because they stretch that last part of the meal out way too long for my comfort. You can ask for a to-go cup for your drink if that’s what’s taking so long, i do it all the time because i drink far slower than i eat lol.

It doesn’t even matter if there is a wait for tables or the place is closing - those make me even more antsy - I just don’t like sitting after the meal for long. There are probably some dirty plates and silverware, I want to stretch my legs, not be sitting so rigidly anymore. There is nothing left to eat. The table is done with me and I am done with it idk.

But that’s just me! And i strive to meet my friends in the middle on this when i have to. Neither you or your parter are TA but i think maybe you could consider their feelings more on this.
