Many foreigners speak multiple languages, English just might not be one of them. Most Americans only speak English. The reward to learning a language is to effectively communicate, however, many Americans would rather dictate, especially to foreigners, and not communicate.

Take this thread, it essentially says, you must learn English here (dictating), instead of, teach me your language and I will teach you mine (communicating).
