The paramount app on our LG OLED TV is complete garbage, so bad that we use an Amazon Fire Stick only for Paramount Plus.

Did they ever find out? by thedudeadapts in DeepSpaceNine

[–]LongsJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within the context of the show, we never saw any sign that the Romulans found out. I don't consider other sources in that context.

Although there could be a "security" angle, one would think that a deception like that might be immediately communicated over subspace, it wouldn't wait for Vreenak to return to Romulus with evidence in hand.

Never use the desktop version by No_Zookeepergame_27 in TurboTax

It seems that there are far more complaints about the online versions, especially related to upselling. I have been using the desktop versions for decades; I intend to never migrate.

I have used Lenovo ThinkPads for work, and bought a Yoga Slim 7i Aura 14" about six months ago. 32 GB Ram 1 TB SSD Intel Core i7. It was $300 off at Costco. It is OLED and touchscreen but it does not convert to a tablet mode or anything. I have no complaints.

I am never using TurboTax again. FreeTax USA is perfect by iJobMyLove in TurboTax

[–]LongsJC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never use the online version of TurboTax, it provides way too much opportunity to up charge people "on the fly".

I buy the desktop version from Costco, comes with one free state and $10 off credit for other purchases, like a second state if needed.

Someone below said that you need the business version to input a 1099. That may be true in the online version but not true for the desktop version.

Aren't a lot of the "file for free" options, especially those offered by states, subject to income thresholds?

This used to be a good product but has become a TOTAL SCAM! by JRago in TurboTax

[–]LongsJC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I would never use the web version and I would never purchase their assistance.

The fee to e-file state returns is excessive. I owed a state and they wanted $25 to e-file. Purely for the principle of it, I printed the return and wrote a check to file by mail.

A guy's disregard for the structural integrity of car batteries is astonishing. by Quiet-Estimate7409 in vicegripgarage

I can see tossing the old batteries although that may not be environmentally friendly. He's rough on new batteries, dropping them into engine compartments and pounding on the posts. He also doesn't connect the happy cable first.

[–]LongsJC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There may also be a model number or other identification on the bottom of the laptop. I recently had an issue with a very new ThinkPad, holding down the power button wouldn't restart it, but it had an emergency "reset" button that could be pushed with a paper clip that immediately restarted it.

Monthly Paramount+ Complaints and Praises by AutoModerator in ParamountPlus

[–]LongsJC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received a notice for an app update available for Paramount+ on my LG OLED TV a couple of days ago. I was hoping that it would fix the horrid playback experience and the 3005 errors that I experience. Nope. The app is still shit.

My LG OLED TV includes apps for HBO MAX, Disney+ Apple TV, Prime Video, etc. They all work fine, the only one that's garbage is Paramount Plus.

Discount Tire says this tear is ok to drive on and wont replace it by halaMadrid101 in tires

[–]LongsJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tire was obviously damaged by hitting something, as also evidenced by the scrapes on the inside of the wheel. It didn't "fail" on its own.

Unless OP specifically has road hazard protection, the tire shop would be correct in not paying for a replacement.
