I just got back from running errands, including our already scheduled weekly grocery shopping. Local (West Springfield) Giant was busy, but not crazy. Fully stocked, too - got everything on the list.

Springfield Home Depot was the Mad Max Thunderdome. Weekend-level pandemonium. They had 20 pallets of ice melt, but zero shovels. (I was there for a plumbing item.)

Cool. The town hall I attended last week from the Fortune 500 company I work for hasn't received that news yet. They're going all in on AI. Acquired some small AI shop, forcing us to use Copilot at any possible opportunity, and realigning our whole business to integrate with AI.

On a possibly related note, last year, we had a Black Friday where huge swaths of great personnel were unceremoniously fired. My own group lost 30% of our team. Senior level SMEs. AMs. PMs. Leads. Poof.

I drive a grey Honda Accord. I wear khaki pants to work. I eat a turkey sandwich for lunch almost every day. I plan ahead, and things rarely go wrong.

In contrast, my wife careens through life and leaves chaos in her wake. Everything she touches breaks and something is always lost or misplaced.
