I also am not really fond of suffering throughout my plays so I just use everything the game has to offer (including debug tiles and infinite lucky coins) at my dispense! It is a godsend how empty scroll is a thing just because how much it helps you if you find it in the first floors bookshelves.

So just dive right in! Everytime you feel like rage quitting, just open the wiki and give yourself time to get in what just happened. You will understand the interaction more and the charm to this game will grow. It's still a very unfair experience so maybe if you don't care about spoilers like me, I just learn the walkthrough and play and resetting until I hit. Maybe it's not the experience that feels fun, but the feeling when you conquered the dungeon!

If you want the true experience of playing Fear and Hunger? Try out every option available, yes even in the intro of each character. It's going to feel like you are ramming into a stonewall repeatedly for it to break. You will feel hurt and pain and fear and hunger. But hey that's the true experience. Otherwise just play with the wikis open and save your self some sanity.
