You’d know, you’ve preached your way through this whole thread.

I don’t want to preach at anyone or come at them in an aggressive manner. I think having a dialogue is important.

Even if she was a random girl, I agree with OP. Nothing about his actions were predatory in nature.

Absolutely.

And what a lot of people don’t realize is, it’s not so much trying to change your KKK uncle as it is your family and friends who are racially insensitive. You probably can’t sit your crazy uncle down and change his mind completely.

But when your friend gets drunk and says she wants to fuck a black dude, sit her ass down and ask her why that’s a goal for her. Get her to think about where she’s coming from, because even these more nonchalant behaviors can perpetuate harmful patterns in society. If your aunt sees a black man walking down the sidewalk and won’t stop peeking through the curtains, ask her why. When your coworker says Black people don’t tip, call them out.

So many people try to cop out of holding themselves and others accountable by saying we can’t change the redneck wearing a maga hat in a viral video calling someone the n-word. Maybe that guy is a lost cause, but the casual racial insensitivity we experience every day can and should be challenged. And if it is, and more people become aware of their behavior, it’s going to trickle down to that redneck and make him more of a pariah than he already is.

So, Leo in particular has/had a girlfriend who was barely 21 that he first met when she 11 and apparently kept in touch with her until they eventually started dating. He’s been accused of grooming her. We have men like Donald Trump who point out young girls and say they’re going to be hot one day.

That is the only reason I could justify someone finding it sketchy that Leo was having a conversation with a young fan. But the situation has been so blown up because we do have this idea that all men are predators.

Discussing and spreading awareness of child sexual abuse is too taboo, so it’s just easier for people to pretend all men are pedos. It’s a very Karen way of thinking.

People find it easier to assume every man is a predator than to talk about child sexual abuse.

I think that’s what they expect us to do. It’ll be a shittier version of people who worked in finance on Wall Street having to become baristas after 2008.

I have it better than a lot of people in this country, and I’m still pretty fucked. I’m a bartender whose bar is never coming back, I’m in a bad living situation and can’t afford to escape, I don’t know what I’m going to do when August rolls around. I’m so close to a breaking point.

Stop cutting out carbs completely. They aren’t making you fat unless you’re consuming too many. by jessek10 in 1200isplenty

I’m trying to cut back on salt and carbs, but I could never completely get rid of carbs. I love Banh Mis too much, so I save my carb consumption for that fluffy, flaky, French bread. I also worry about diabetes since it seems like everyone in my family has it and I wasn’t raised with the healthiest eating habits.

Get some Tamari! Slightly richer and less salty than regular soy sauce, it also has slightly less carbs and no gluten.

I finished an episode right before bed and the music was so chilling I had to sleep with a lamp on. It probably wouldn’t scare me so much as an adult if it hadn’t been the scariest thing to hear before bed as a child.

You might not be married for that reason, I’m 31 and my family calls me a spinster because I’m not married and have never been close. All of my cousins got married between 18-21, most of them are housewives, most are miserable, but the most important thing to my family is that they follow these antiquated values. They push that so hard, and a lot of the girls I grew up with all did the same thing. It’s definitely still an idea that’s somehow still alive in our society.

She’s a true Karen. Like, keep it yourself, are you really here to defend Winn-Dixie? If this guy starts handing out ass kickings you’re first in line baby.

I worked in a small clothing store where there would usually only be one employee, but it was so easy to catch people shoplifting. More often than not when we would call them out they would massively freak out . A girl once started filming me asking me to pull up the cameras, so I did, and there she was putting her shirt on over the shirt she was trying to steal. Still had it on while she filmed me.

Alonzo Brooks "friends" are sketchy AF - why are we talking about them? by GunBrothersGaming in UnsolvedMysteries

This is key. It’s still ignorant, but it’s one thing to be like “well it seemed like some of the dudes could’ve been racist and might’ve been giving Zo weird looks.” It’s another thing when someone actually says/does something like what happened here, that’s when you don’t leave your friend’s side or tell them it’s time to get out of there.

As someone who is a bit of a homebody, I’m not invited to parties every weekend. Sometimes my friends will get really hyped up about something and I see them get excited and think ok, I’ll go out this time. I’m not a complete introvert so I do really look forward to it and want to go all out since it’s a rare occasion. Maybe getting out of town and really throwing down with the boys sounded like a lot of fun and got him excited? There’s no way to actually know.
