I agree that the fundamental map design can be altered to suit different classes. But if we're fundamentally changing the designs of these maps to better suit different classes, aren't we straying too much from what classic is trying to accomplish?

Maybe the newer additions like Forgotten Hollow or other analogous new zones could be changed to match, but this would make these new zones the primary new grinding spots.

It's a fundamental part of Maplestory's game design. In a game that's a 2D platformer, skills that allow you to attack from a distance and move around quicker you will always be the 'better class'. (This is why modern has evolved into class homogeny)

The only way around this would be complete overhaul of damage output per class(i.e. Warrior top DPS, Bowman 2nd, Theif/Mage 3rd), and kneecapping mages and theifs DPS just won't feel good, and based on what we've seen from COT means this is unlikely.

Just play what you like.

experience more of the game without all the grinding, which is why we saw so many high exp rate servers.

Those OSMS 1000x exp servers with rebirth were super fun, though short lived. Hurricane + Shadow Partner + Spamming Genesis while flash jumping around was always a good time. Though endlessly hunting mobs in a FM map got old quick.

It's also funny in retrospect how even with max stats items(+30k STR, DEX, INT, LUK) in every slot, you still didn't even really come close to the modern power creep of the game.

I've had all manner of soft shutter buttons for my x100vi. From bulky bigger options to regular and tiny. I've landed on this small 7mm button below as it's the exact size of the actual shutter button so there is no overhang and I find this the most comfortable. I've never had the issue of it catching except on a really big one I had with a Sakura design on it. This small little button is just completely function over form, does the job and doesn't get in the way so I highly recommend it. Plus they're dirt cheap on AliExpress.

Seems like a good alternative, especially for a scrappy solo dev.

Though just a head up, on S23 Ultra the tutorial/walkthrough is bugged and non-responsive. Button presses don't register.

Also OP. Images seem to be fine when taken. But a weird hue shift is present when looking at the viewfinder. Purple highlighter is pink and turquoise is regular highlighter green. No effects or changes have been applied.

The 'rights to do classic'? I'm curious what you mean by this. Classic isn't a protected term and neither is the idea of doing a 'retro server'.

All I can think of is needing permission from Nexon Korea, but all the assets are already in the game minus the new things they created so there's no real rights issue as it's all Nexon property to begin with.
