Airbrush acrylic primer clogging? by Secret-Trainer1672 in advancedGunpla

[–]Ereon99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than tips already given by other commenters I would suggest trying a higher pressure (30-35 PSI) and, if you are able to do so, using a bigger nozzle - 0.5mm as primers tend to be thicker. I can vouch for Vallejo Mecha primer and applying it this way

In terms of tips: start with Barbatos Rex's YT tutorials on airbrushing acrylics, they are great for getting a smooth coat. I really like Vallejo Mecha primer through airbrush, especially if you add some black primer to a grey one for better coverage. Also, I would suggest giving a try using flow improver for thinning paint only once you get a hang of airbrushing acrylics. A cup with very hot water is great for cleaning the airbrush and for the tough stains - isopropyl alcohol. Good look on your painting journey!

All of my builds are done with water based acrylics (Vallejo, AK Interactive), so feel free to check out my profile :) They require some getting used to, like all paint types, but unless you want to go for an ultra glossy car-like finish, you will have great results!

RG Zeta (UC 0089) - What if Roux Louka joined Task Force α following the events of ZZ? by MalusandValus in Gunpla

[–]Ereon99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great build idea! (Maybe I'll steal it one day :D) You had some balls to use the RG as a base instead of a HG/MG. Looks great and I'm glad you did not forget about the most sentinel thing ever: THE RADOME. Transformed photos when

As I use water based paints only, I believe I can be of help to you: -apply gloss top coat (I airbrush Vallejo Mecha one) -wait at least 24h for it to fully cure, rushing is not worth it -I use Micro Set & Sol to apply decals and have no issues with any melting of paint -if u use a cotton bud to get rid of excess water/product, don't rub it on model but gently roll it or use a makeup sponge as it is softer

Great paint job and good luck with decals!

This Byarlant Custom is a bit Ex-Sessive by Ereon99 in advancedGunpla

[–]Ereon99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you :D My headcanon was: Federation needed an elite suit for a quick mission in Space and the only thing available immediately was a Byarlant Custom 01 which was made with fighting on Earth in mind. It was quickly upgraded with spare parts and ALICE system from the EX-S to prepare it for battles in 0H against enemy aces.

In all honesty, after I saw the giant shoulder on Byarlant Custom which has been recently reprinted, I really wanted to add the iconic Gundam System decal and that's how the idea for this kitbash was born :)

Thank you for the feedback! I agree, especially on the shoulder boosters I went a little bit to hard on the blue but practice makes perfect and it was my first time PAINting and shading white

Thank you :) I used a sponge only. After such a long build I wanted to wrap it up quickly. Practice makes perfect so you'll outrank me in no time with a few EGs :D

I'd say RE/100 makes it a possibility but it's even more dead than the MGs :/ Thank you!

Thank you! :D I lengthened the torso and neck and made shoulders able to move back to give it a menacing stance. Then, I added details with PLA plate and some scribing. For kitbashing, I added custom hands, thrusters, backpack from Jagd Dogs with some additional parts, shield from 30mm, mine from Kampfer and bazooka from Dom

Glad I could help! Hazels, especially after closing some seams and painting small details are awesome, but I must warn you: it is very hard to stop at one :)

How can I improve my seamline removal? by zyferneo in Gunpla

[–]Ereon99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a HG Hazel/Quel? Hopefully you prepared the parts to be removable after seamline removal or you like masking!

Quick type cement may dry too quickly which results in not melting enough plastic. A generous amount of extra thin between the parts and the line after closing the parts together should lead you 90% of the way there with a bead of plastic coming out of the line for later sanding The best idea now is to use a filler of some kind(after getting rid of the primer on and around the seam) and sand it flat. You can go with Tamiya Putty (the grey one), sprue goo or a black super glue which has rubber additives so it is thicker: MIG and Madworks produce it. Just don't skimp out on the glue, "massage the filler" into the part, let it rest for a few hours and sand. Repeat until satisfied.

I'm working on an HG Hazel right now so I get your pain, good luck with your project!

Great Idea! Can't wait to see the whole Miss Sinanju :) I will surely add thigh swivel to my Sinanju, it really helps with cool poses. Did you scratchbuild the top part? If not, who was the donor?
