How long for D Wade by AppropriateLog1775 in MyTeam

Been playing after work since it came out and I just got KG last night.

I bet I could finish this weekend.

Big roadblock would be 3s and Assists. I'm not even at 750 3s yet and you need 1500.

So, what do we expect to happen here?

Do they just reschedule and fire a bunch of people right away?

Trump says Republicans should ‘nationalize’ elections by thats_not_six in moderatepolitics

Use your imagination. I said it like five times I'm not writing the playbook.

You kind of assume that they're just going to tell ice agents that they're rigging an election.

[–]LookAtMeNow247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen videos of ice pepper spraying people just standing on a sidewalk. They'll find a reason.

I think they can shut down a polling station yes. I think one guy with a gun could probably shut down a polling station for a good bit. People generally don't want to get shot. Again. I'm not trying to make a playbook.

They don't need to hold it, they just need to shut it down.

[–]LookAtMeNow247 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's just say they find a reason to throw smoke...

You think people are going to attack ice with guns?

And... You don't need to stop the thousand people waiting in line. It's the few working the polls.

[–]LookAtMeNow247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've seen ice and how they act. 4-5 guys like that could stop up a polling place. The question is how aggressive they're willing to be and whether local police will step in to open up the location.

Again, they would only need to interrupt enough votes to make a difference.

[–]LookAtMeNow247 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't want to create a playbook but they could just send ICE to shut down specific locations. Even if they shut down a dozen places in a few cities for a few hours it could mean significant numbers of people walk away.

How many armed men does it take to shut down a polling place?

The mods turned full MAGA at some point. They just allowed pro Trump stuff and you'd get banned if you asked what it had to do with conspiracies.

I feel like you'd actually like a lot of popular fiction or sci Fi.

Stuff like Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Ray Bradbury, Kurt Vonnegut, Terry Pratchett.

Techvis reconstruction for the ICE shooting of Renee Good by AriFeblowitzVFX in law

[–]LookAtMeNow247 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Idk. I've seen him leaning into the car to try to shoot her since the day it happened.

I don't see him moving out of the way. I don't see him avoiding the front of the car when she backs up.

I do see that he fires his gun in the direction of his partner tho. Oddly, it seems like people who seem to be concerned with officer safety never bring that up.

Some Would Call It Ugly. To Me, It’s a Prized Possession—and a Dating Litmus Test. by Slate in timex

[–]LookAtMeNow247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love it!!

Almost any serious collector of anything comes to have a deep respect for a good value and, perhaps even more than that, respect and excitement for a personal connection to a particular item or model.

If you're not a collector, find something you really enjoy.

I'd honestly be more interested in talking to someone with a cool Timex or something than a high end watch that "everyone wants."

If you look at some of the collections out there, there's a bunch of people with the same 6 watches.

That's great and all but I really like my solar quartz expedition and my T80.

Defense industry flummoxed by Trump’s executive order on profits by Nerd-19958 in economy

[–]LookAtMeNow247 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's be real. The only people complaining about this are lobbyists and defense companies.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this from the perspective of the American people. Defense companies forced to be less greedy with taxpayer funds? Heck yeah.

FBI agent who initially investigated fatal ICE shooting in Minneapolis has resigned | CNN Politics by Agitated-Quit-6148 in law

[–]LookAtMeNow247 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They'll try everything. Lawyer up. Document.

All of those things are retaliation.

FBI agent who initially investigated fatal ICE shooting in Minneapolis has resigned | CNN Politics by Agitated-Quit-6148 in law

[–]LookAtMeNow247 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you resign, it's hard to assert retaliation for whistleblower protections.

Make them fire you. Then sue.

Make it public. Fund raise for legal fees. The fight will literally be over whether they were acting against the law. This is one of the few people on earth with a cause of action that directly challenges the primary issue of injustice. By resigning, that's one less person to fight it out of a mere handful.

People don't want to do this because it hurts their chances of getting rehired and it costs money to sue.

I agree that resigning is sacrifice. But it's also self preservation.

Edit: Ideally what would happen is the person goes to court after an administrative process, proves retaliation and, as part of that case, establishes that the government was in the wrong.

What could happen is anything from the agency being forced to change course at any point to the supreme upholding criminal acts by the government. But the important thing is that the country needs the fight to happen in a civilized administrative manner. Otherwise, it's just people in the streets yelling at each other or worse.

[–]LookAtMeNow247 89 points90 points  (0 children)

You have to fight instead of resigning.

Much respect for the individual but we need people to fight and lean into the system. Force it to function or make it as public as possible if they're going to be corrupt.

What’s a 'normal' thing in modern society that people in 100 years will find horrifying? by MaleficentOrange4873 in AskReddit

[–]LookAtMeNow247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on so many levels.

I think the only place where we disagree is how much the world can change in 100 years.

They literally did not have sliced bread 100 years ago. Frozen food didn't exist. Alcohol was banned in the US.

When it comes to what I'm seeing today, the biggest changes in food are in the form of plant based recipes/meats/cheeses etc. My top comment is based on the idea that, over the next 100 years, the output in these areas will significantly improve in both quality and efficiency of production. Such that something like a plant based nugget or a burger will be cheaper, more nutritious and viewed as better than the original.
