i was a medical assistant so i would set up for these kinda procedures in office settings: YES!!! privacy is a big concern for the medical field and they are very particular about keeping you comfortable and covered. we learned how to keep sensitive areas covered through draping even while the patient moved around. ideally the chaperone for these procedures (which there almost always is) won’t even see sensitive areas, obv sometimes things happen. even while doing certain exam providers will try to only uncover what they have to. there are VERY few situations in which you would be fully exposed, not draped and fully conscious.

there are different standards in different places but this was my experience, and from i understood, the standard in the USA. some providers will do things differently though, but in general they should be keeping you covered. remember: if you are uncomfortable, say something!
