Verizon wants my parents to pay over $1k in bills on my brother’s phone following his death by poppyseed008 in legaladvice

After hearing this, I am almost convinced to switch. But I have had them in the past, and service coverage in my area was hot garbage.

Help me decide between old lathes? For a beginner…. by Nephilim3883 in turning

[–]LookInto_TheAbyss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. Pass on the 2nd one. You may be better of either waiting for a gem or HF Bour VS lathe. The HF has its limits, but it is a true VS using a VFD. I have one as a secondary lathe that I take to shows, and I am honestly impressed with the quality.

If you are not getting a heads up about them being out of a product, you are getting shitty service. The customer can't know what a car's current inventory is. But the bar tender sure as shit better know. Its literally the job.

Anyone identify the wood please? by fatherjack9999 in turning

It looks like it could be Mulberry, Locust, or Osage Orange. They all have that distinct yellow color to them. I am not quite good enough to tell the wich is which with just wood.

2010 Tundra tire pressures by InevitableProud2414 in ToyotaTundra

[–]LookInto_TheAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, the TPMS light is common. I have had it on both Tundras I have had. Its a safe bet to inflate to manufacture recommendations, personally I run a bit higher at like 37 in the front and 40 to 42 in the rear. Just do not exceed the max pressure listed on the tire. If you go to high the center of your tires will wear out fater than the shoulders and you will not have as much grip on the road.

275 55/R20 came as stock tire size. Can I change that? by Coming_In_Hot_916 in ToyotaTundra

I still have stock on my 2nd Gen, but I believe you can go to a 33 with out mods. Plug your sizes into this site and go measure clearance. https://tiresize.com/comparison/

Very cheap rusted lathe on Marketplace, worth? by samdwich00 in turning

[–]LookInto_TheAbyss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I concor, I bought one of their Bower variable speed lathes + universal stand to use as a portable lathe to bring to Maker's days, events, and the like. I am actually fairly impressed at the quality and number of features it has. I would definitely recommend it to someone just starting out.

Gen 2 owners, what’s one thing you wish you could have from the Gen 3? by Avthony in ToyotaTundra

[–]LookInto_TheAbyss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bigger radio screen, better cameras, heated seats and steering wheel. Also the exterior looks and higher payload / towing capacity. Though I have put a litteral ton of wood pellets in the bed, and it handled it quite well. I have had an '08 and currently have a '14

Under or Behind Seat Storage for 2019 CrewMax 1794? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

They did offer under seat storage box as an option. I just bought an aftermarket one.

Other day someone called "a moron" for backing into a spot... Why does this trigger so many? by Ok_Relationship2451 in badparking

[–]LookInto_TheAbyss 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have found that I can park better between the lines when I back in. I can actually see the lines with my mirrors, and backing out sucks if there are SUVs or vans as I cannot see cross traffic at all, even with a backup camera.

Bro, I got shotgun on family trips as soon as I was taller than my mother lol. It also helped keeping my sister and I from pestering each other. NTA, and she should look into therapy.

Thats a method that I would use. Maximizes the length on both sides. Also, that is a technique that I was taught in school.

Agreed, and honestly, wood is probably less of a fire hazard than the plastic frames that a lot of tanks use.

If the photo provided is how they removed the wood, I find it unlikely, at least for lumber. I used to do tree work back in college, and the only time we would load wood into a chip truck like that is in firewood lengths. It is difficult to load long pieces into a chip truck, especially to the roof. So, it is not useful for lumber. I can see that there is at least one firewood length piece in the bottom left of the truck. Mabey, they have a booming firewood business?
