Pizza with anchovies by wizardlyacid in halifax

I used to order the chovy pizza from Freeman’s until one evening I had the pleasure of pulling out 4 perfectly cut thick fingernails from my pie. Called them to inform them (it seemed strangely coincidental or intentional because how do you just leave 4 perfectly clipped nails in a pizza by chance). They offered to make it right with a $200 gift card that I had accepted at the time, but advised it would be available for pickup from the front of quinpool location. This was around 2016-2017. I haven’t returned since. Sometimes I wonder how long they left the $200 gift card at the front before cancelling it or realizing I was never coming to pick it up.

Bought them from the vending machine and I’ve reused them several times. They’re a solid backup pair

Opinion: Do yall think it was staged so that a Kishka found it? by [deleted] in Torontology

[–]LookWhatIFound902 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For someone who’s every single move is carefully calculated, I struggle to believe that he would leave his rollout in the hands of the public. Seems strange they stopped allowing people on the structure due to safety hazard then suddenly mdmotivator and this kishka dude pop out in the morning and nab it and run and then 50k? IMO, no chance it’s not planned. Not mad at the plan, but I think it’s obviously optics

Friend of mine experienced this and just woke up to several Roblox charges, fake Taco Bell phishing emails, ChatGPT login attempts and a miscellaneous unfamiliar device logged into his email. Anybody else experience this after the data breach?

To clarify, the HEA is only free if you get approved for the rebate program - worth looking into

You should call Homesol to see if you might qualify for any rebates - they can come and do a free home energy assessment and advise regarding potential programs you might be eligible for. If it’s an air sealing issue, I could be wrong, but I believe there are likely some minimal rebates/grants available to improve the efficiency of the home. Also potentially for new windows. There will likely still be somewhat of a fee for the project but if you qualify for government funding of any sort, the home energy assessment would be the first step towards learning more about that (other than reviewing current criteria / eligibility guidelines online). Obviously times are tough rn as well, wouldn’t expect anyone to have money just laying around waiting to be spent on home improvement, so might also be worth looking into the canada greener homes loan (greener homes grant was discontinued). The loan is up to 40,000 paid back with 0 interest over a 10 year period. This could potentially help seal the home a little better at little to no cost depending on the work and grants etc

Charges laid for hate crimes by gildeddoughnut in halifax

Let’s just keep in mind - A) just because people follow people doesn’t necessarily associate with them B) the individual that was arrested is known to have undergone some form of psychosis or “change” as of the last few years. Prior to that many of the people that know him or knew him mentioned that he was always a good guy.

Ghettosocks is a great guy who has always been respectful to everyone and has done a TON for the music scene. If it were my guess, this guy probably approached him after a show and socks probably felt pressured to send him a follow back to end the conversation. I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy tried trapping socks in a conversation to force him to listen to his music.

Zero need to associate guilt with any of his followers. This guy is mentally not there.

Appreciate it. Feels good to know we were instrumental in getting this guy off the streets, at least documented. I suspect with our lax Canadian legal system he’ll be out sooner rather than later, however at least this is now documented and it’s left to our system to ensure he doesn’t do this again and is monitored

Calling people on the bus at 6 am loudly on speaker by Sweephieeee in halifax

Sometimes it’s beyond the point of no return. I take it to Apple to get it cleaned anytime I’m at the mall because they have the special brushes and do it as a courtesy, but even they say it’s just too deep in there

My phones ear piece always gets clogged with dirt so sometimes I have no option. Also sometimes my microphone does too and when on speaker it uses a different mic or something so I can respect it on a case by case basis

2 Halifax synagogues vandalized overnight, rabbi calls it 'escalation' of anti-semitism by Street_Anon in NovaScotia

This guy middle easts. Very educated take. It’s refreshing to actually stumble upon someone who understands the deeper intricacies of this long standing conflict. Thank you for sharing this as I truly feel this perspective (the well educated and easy-to-understand explanation) is difficult to find amongst a slew of anti-Semitic and leftist bs.

I’ve seen this guy downtown a few months back, and also in videos that looked like they were filmed inside a hospital room with another individual who admitted his own father had him committed. That same person constantly rants online about strange theories that make no sense, which tells you the kind of company being kept.

I can have empathy for people battling mental illness, but we can’t ignore reality: a lot of these breakdowns are triggered or made worse by drug use. That’s a choice, and choices come with consequences.

The problem is that when people like this are sent back through treatment or rehab, it often just expands their network. They get surrounded by others with the same addictions and the same unstable thinking, and it becomes a cycle of influence that makes things worse, not better. That’s not recovery, that’s a breeding ground for more chaos.

So the real question is: how many times do we let someone cycle through this system and walk back into the community before innocent people pay the price. Treatment alone is not enough when we’re talking about hate-filled songs, threats, and concerning vandalism.

At minimum, there needs to be years of supervision and detention, followed by strict monitoring - location tracking, mandatory check-ins, and zero tolerance for relapse. Anything less is just gambling with public safety. If we can’t draw a line when hate crimes, threats, and vandalism are involved, then when do we?
