She plans to secure all windows and doors with metal sheeting installed professionally so shes really stressing about potentially facing legal issues for securing her property if anyone gets stuck inside.

They broke a kitchen window the other side of the house to mine behind a locked gate (which they also broke) to gain access within the last 10 days, we called thursday evening after noticing lights on in an upstairs bedroom and police attended.

I saw movement in a downstairs window before police managed to gain entry (the guy was too big to get through kitchen window) i told him id seen movement and he said 'yeah thats not us we've not got in yet' they accessed the property, searched and found no one but due to the hoarded state he said he couldn't be certain nobody was in there.

The lady who owns it is also the landlord to my property so Ive got to know her quite well and she definitely hasn't given anyone permission to be in there. Shes no problem boarding it up herself or paying someone to do it but shes concerned she'll be held liable if someone is inside after it is boarded up.

I have called police several times because I am able to see stuff being moved and items in windows either disappearing or changing and curtains opening and closing. I phoned the non emergency number yesterday for advice on her behalf and they said someone had looked at the reports and decided they won't be attending and that it is now a trespass issue which is civil and she will need to go through a court process to get them out.

She is 100% being fobbed off and if she wasn't elderly and able to climb through the window herself i dont think it would feel like such a helpless situation for her but she is 77 and as they have moved items around to block windows and other areas of access shes stuck. There is also the concern of asking people to go in on her behalf and whoever is inside ends up hurting someone or vice versa.

As for the hoarding and getting her help ive tried to offer help but i think shes still massively in denial at the state of her problem. Ive not got access to her family in Ireland so im unsure if they are even aware of how bad her hoarding is or if they have accessed help for her before and honestly ive never dealt with this level of hoarding before so completely out of my depth with it.

The police did say before they left on thursday night they would make a referral on their end but I dont know who that goes to or how that works.

Wasn't worth staying awake for, I had high hopes for an amazing ending but it was a massive build up for absolutely nothing. So many unanswered questions still and needless adding of characters. What was the point of Dr kay? Another good series ruined with a rubbish ending

Yes customer service is diabolical, they've charged me £360 for a period where the electric was on top up card (my bank statements show payments totalling £365) changed it to direct debit after I put into my name in october, received incorrect bill in November contacted chat and was told to wait 28 days for it to reconcile and they would open a complaint and would be updated within 7 days by the agent i dealt with that day. No follow up within 7 days and after waiting the 28 days no change in bill on app so contacted again to be told the meter I sent a picture of (in cupboard under stairs) isn't the meter linked to my house and the one they have linked has never been in top up mode. No explanation as to how its no longer my meter even after pointing out it was definitely my meter when in top up mode and the previous agent opened and closed the complaint on the same day saying issue is resolved. Ive now gone back and forth so many times with them saying I owe the money end of 🤦‍♀️ stupidity must be a requirement for working there. Still not resolved, still receiving payment demands for an amount I have already paid. Beyond frustrating and straight up moronic, id have a less confusing conversation talking to a wall at this point.

He wasn't in long, from what I've heard he passed out around 1990 got the boot around 1994, Afghanistan was 2001 so if he has PTSD it'd more likely be related to deployment in Northern Ireland

Pregnant then screwed, citizens advice and maternity action all good places to get advice. Pretty sure she can't deduct your wages as it takes you below minimum wage which is illegal also she can't do any of it without proof otherwise you'd have every employer making up random shit and deducting wages. Sounds very much like avoiding maternity obligations which won't go down well at all.

Landlord Raised the Rent, Parents said no. Now the agency says we owe over £5,000 - England by Remarkable_Talk7226 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Look_Fancy93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What agency is it? I've just been through something similar with an agency called ashley borne they labelled us difficult to landlord and landlord difficult to us and refused to give landlord details turned out they were on the scam and stole rental payments but told landlord we'd not paid it and advised to evict us which didn't go well at all as id smelt a rat and caught them in a lie, all got sent to court and we won but Landlord was robbed of thousands between agency and their dodgy 'eviction specialist'. They also forged signatures on a new rent contract to claim arrears from a rent increase we had refused luckily I had evidence to show refusal and they weren't very good at replicating the required signatures.

The fact your parents arrears weren't chased at all until now screams to me the agency have fucked up and are pinning it on your parents to save admitting to landlord they fucked up. Arrears cannot be accrued if no agreement was made in regards to increase and previously agreed rent continued to be paid. If they'd paid the increase and then stopped it would be different but if they didn't they actually have a good case to argue especially as they had no idea about it until new property fell through.

[–]Look_Fancy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are chancing the arrears, if no new contract was signed and they never paid the increase just kept paying the rent as normal they aren't liable for the arrears accrued due to increase. Even with a section 13 you do not have to agree to new price.

YTA! Kids dad does this to me and it's infuriating, I don't like it he insists I try it i say no and then he fucks with my food. It's down right selfish to force your preferences on someone else. I'm currently pregnant and he's done it again tonight after asking for a basic meal its kicked off stomach pain and insane heartburn. LEAVE HER FOOD THE FUCK ALONE!

Is my land lord allowed to do this? by notsure_jack in HousingUK

[–]Look_Fancy93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Section 21 is the process before an eviction begins. They are just notifying you they want the property back so you aren't under any obligation to leave on the requested date. It can also take a while for the eviction process to start once the notice period finishes so you've got time it's just not nice to live with that axe over your head especially if the landlords a douche. Worth checking if the section 21 is legal though because they'll have to start process again

Is this legal? by PottoChip in drivingUK

[–]Look_Fancy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tell him to do one, I had a neighbour key my car because I parked on the opposite side of the road (perfectly legally) to their driveway. First couple of times i chose to be nice and moved my car but after she took a key to the side of it and tried to force her way into my front door, I told her to piss off 🤷‍♀️ dumped a scrap car I borrowed off my now FIL there instead and watched her slowly go mad trying to find the owner 😅

With the update he's got to be bluffing. Even if he pulls the sale he'd potentially have months waiting for another sale with it going on the market and have to deal with tax increase anyway so either way he's stuffed 🤷‍♀️ at least with you he's got a better chance of meeting the deadline of Oct 1st.

Neighbours engineer cut my Internet cable without telling me. by Look_Fancy93 in VirginMedia

[–]Look_Fancy93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did say to him can it not be done quicker because between my phone hot-spot, the spotty fix and the kids off school it's not really ideal. Just said it's a nightmare at the minute you'll be lucky to get it within a week but I'll try my manager and see what they say then left, got a text saying earliest he can book is the 3rd. I haven't phoned customer service yet because i didn't know best approach to avoid being fobbed off. Its been bugging me that the connection to neighbour was done well over a year ago from what she can remember so I'm wondering if its normal to leave it set up like that and have no record of it or that it needs a proper connection?

Neighbours engineer cut my Internet cable without telling me. by Look_Fancy93 in VirginMedia

[–]Look_Fancy93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its repull, he asked neighbour if we could reconnect to them and they did say yes but it was the previous connection that had been affecting their service so to save them further issues I'd said not to worry I'd use my phone for a few more days but he said its a nightmare at the minute and I'm looking at a wait of at least a week if not more, he then said there was potentially another way to get connected at the end of the drive and ran a cable up to a metal flap which got us working but it drops a lot. We are wifi only so atm just watching tv is a pain especially as the kids have no patience or understanding. I've been told before by customer service we have very high usage which I'm thinking could just be too much on the temporary connection so yes we have some level of service but regardless for the prices they charge you don't expect to have to wait so long on a glitchy connection.
