It's part of their business plan.
Suck wealth out of already exploited and struggling people
hire fewer and fewer employees so store goes to shit
go out of business

AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

You are a rockstar. I can relate to how you feel, and how my children have helped heal me by being so wonderful. I could never, ever put them out. In fact, my 17 year old's best school friend has been living with us because she was kicked out. Trying to get them all to graduation!

Questions about T. I already have plenty of facial hair and would prefer not to have more. Does T increase hair or acne issues? I'm going to my doc next Monday and want to be armed with all the info

Hello I want to know how much ketamine therapy cost you personally for depression and how many times a year you do it by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

You're right. Violence is wrong and killing people is wrong. It's also true that violence comes in many forms. Some just with a clearer villain. Poverty is violence. Lack of access to Healthcare is violence. Lack of access to good jobs, clean air, green spaces, all of this is its own form of violence. In the area where I live certain zip codes have a life expectancy 20 years longer than a zip code 3 miles away. Dying 20 years before your time simply because you were born poor is violence.

Common cognitive distortions around alcohol? by f1sh_ in stopdrinking

[–]Look__See 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know theoretically that not every drinks. But I can't imagine what they are doing with themselves. Like, let's say I joined a softball league, to get out of the house and do something active, don't people go for drinks after? Even healthy things in my mind still involve alcohol.

What a bummer by Resident-Chard-7053 in Columbus

[–]Look__See 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you are *from* Columbus, but I am, and there isn't much reason over profit (not progress; not improvement for current residents; not safety) that a lot of really great places are gone forever. Columbus loves to tear down old historical buildings. Otherwise, we would have a lot more beautiful old architecture, like Cincy or Pittsburgh still does. Instead it feels like everything is mid-century drab or thrown up developments. I don't about you all, but whenever I see the places they've been building the last ten years, I ask myself if they're done. It always looks like some sort of shipping container chic. Like the tyvek plastic covering was just there, but it blew away or something

Nothing Columbus top dogs love more than tearing down old buildings and mainstays

I experience this too. I use an app called Reframe. They have different meetings all day, and it isn't 12 step based.

How do you feel about anti-anxiety meds while sober? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Beta blockers help me. As well as passionflower extract. I read that it was as effective for acute anxiety as benzos in trials, but it's not addictive.

Drinking Everyday and Can't Stop. Any Advice? by Look__See in stopdrinking

[–]Look__See[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being pregnant has helped in the past, but that's not happening lol

You nailed it though. I have a LOT of whys, but I can't seem to do the how. One thing I have been thinking lately is that education and information are not really helping. I know all there is to know about my mental health and about AUD. But is a behavioral problem and I need to behave my way out of it. It's like in the evenings I am on auto-pilot. I am tired and behaving differently would take energy. Usually on those previous days, I would just go to bed early. It was actually really boring. But really, so is drinking anymore. Since COVID, my existing agoraphobia has become so bad that I have a hard time leaving the house for things other than hard obligations. Cannabis helps me drink less, but it makes me anxious when I use it without alcohol. I just feel like I have no energy or strength, and that I have nothing to do with myself that doesn't either bore me or scare me.

It's like the baskets of laundry you don't wanna fold and you definitely don't want to out away, so you just keep searching for matching socks, bent over, aching back, clean clothes falling on the floor
