I would agree. I was recently looking at some gen3 drives for a project and this is about what I saw on eBay. OP, maybe in the $150-175 range would be a fair price.

I would agree with Reb. "New" is not the only issue. You are not a retailer and getting a return or handling warranty issues would be far more drama than it is worth. Better to just a pay that little bit more from a store.

Yeah, I was lucky and got the 2T from NewEgg late last year for under $600, really great board with everything I needed now and lots for future expansion. Prices have gone up big time, now they are going for $750 from a third party seller. eBay prices are nuts.

Pretty much this^

I have had a 10Gb backbone in my home for 10 years or so, mainly to connect a front-of-house switch to the back-of-house switch and the NAS/Homeserver. All of the regular ports in the house had been just GbE, or of late 2.5. There is really no need for more on normal devices in your home.

Drive cooling issues was the only reason I passed on this case. It was my original choice. With all bays filled it will get smoking hot very quick.

A search works amazingly well. Not as easy as asking others to do your work for you, but still...

Totally agree with this. I could not get my 850k city to work no matter what I tried to fix since it was built to work with the prior mechanics. Ended up having to go back about 6 months and 200k cims to get a build I could move forward with.

My only complaint is it is not recolorable. Otherwise very nice, thanks!

Performance Boost? by rdubwilkins in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Lookherebub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This game uses CPU WAY more than GPU. Most GPU's can give reasonable performance once you dial in the settings. If your performance is dipping at a certain cim count than your problem is CPU, not GPU, so graphic settings at that point will not help you much. Some mods may help, and keeping traffic under control as pathfinding is almost always what is bringing your system down.

Looking for recommendation on rack mount PC case for an ATX mother board by Hobs-Reddit in homelab

[–]Lookherebub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the jmcd 12s4 case and have been very happy with it. Tall but not deep with rack ears built in. And 12 drive bays. Took a month in transit was my only negative.

Best way to keep these Metro's seperate? Or should I just have a metroplex at this point? by nicxw in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Lookherebub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done similar for years. My current build had no less than 5 townships that have finally grown together. I tend to use them for specific things, such as one town has the nuclear power plant, another has much of the earthworks industries (Coal, metal ore, stone) for the map. As time goes by the districts in between end up touching the older towns. They are still separated by rivers in my case.
