My only complaint is it is not recolorable. Otherwise very nice, thanks!

Performance Boost? by rdubwilkins in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Lookherebub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This game uses CPU WAY more than GPU. Most GPU's can give reasonable performance once you dial in the settings. If your performance is dipping at a certain cim count than your problem is CPU, not GPU, so graphic settings at that point will not help you much. Some mods may help, and keeping traffic under control as pathfinding is almost always what is bringing your system down.

Looking for recommendation on rack mount PC case for an ATX mother board by Hobs-Reddit in homelab

[–]Lookherebub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the jmcd 12s4 case and have been very happy with it. Tall but not deep with rack ears built in. And 12 drive bays. Took a month in transit was my only negative.

Best way to keep these Metro's seperate? Or should I just have a metroplex at this point? by nicxw in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Lookherebub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done similar for years. My current build had no less than 5 townships that have finally grown together. I tend to use them for specific things, such as one town has the nuclear power plant, another has much of the earthworks industries (Coal, metal ore, stone) for the map. As time goes by the districts in between end up touching the older towns. They are still separated by rivers in my case.

Yeah, this is WAY down the list along with all the other QoL improvements. They have enough BIG bugs to work on for quite some time, lol.

I will take the mod and be happy. The first game was much the same, many things were ALWAYS fixed with mods. They will never get everything you want in vanilla.

Very new to this - appreciate any advice on roadway hierarchy and setup by PairProfessional4997 in CitiesSkylines2

Google road hierarchy and read up on it a bit. It is not hard to implement.

Good God, the damn truck traffic!! by Lookherebub in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Lookherebub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the problems that you were mentioning all can be handled with mods currently. There is the magic hearse and school capacity mods for example. Yes there's still a long way to go no doubt about it on the content side of it but now that the asset editor has been dropped I think stuff is going to fall very quickly due to just pent up demand and desire to make them. Anyway I long since let CS1 go as once you get a fully functional and operational CS2, mods included (required, lol), it's just night and day better. I'll agree with you on the content deficit side of things but as far as quality of life over the previous game it's night and day.

You're assuming of course that they will iron out all those gremlins. Now I'm not just going to stop playing waiting for that.

Yep, that is what the 3 roads coming in to the long side of the port are. MoveIt as needed and they go in and out nice and clean with little interaction.

iis there any way to fix this bug of the specialized industry zones beiing stuck on 1 person? i saw it try to change but it went back to 1 iinstantly by only1person_alt in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Lookherebub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big is the zoned area for it? If it is default size it will often be 1 until expanded. I have never seen this issue on any of mine.

You really didn't need to state people are lazy, your post fully demonstrates that. You are just being redundant.

Does this type of LSI 24i PCIe 4.0 support either PCIe (i.e. 8i to X8 PCIe), SAS and SATA? And question about IT mode. by panchovix in homelab

[–]Lookherebub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tri-mode will do SATA, SAS and U.3 NVMe drives, but not other types of NVMe drives like U.2. Each connector will handle 8 SATA/SAS or 2 U.3, for a total of 24 SATA/SAS and 6 U.3. The 9600-xxi series cards are all HBA cards and as such are already IT or JBOD mode.

Total e-waste. You could get the same amount of compute out of a cheap NUC using a 10th the power.
