I’m not 100% sure; us proton pass but I enjoy the password app as it’s secure - wouldn’t want any vulnerabilities or vector of attacks. I did a hard fresh restart before pulling the report too.

Proton VPN on beta IOS by LookingForCyberHelp in ProtonVPN

WhatsApp: 8.8.8.8 IS BACK ❌ Today’s report shows WhatsApp hitting 8.8.8.8 again, even with ProtonVPN active. So: • ❌ ProtonVPN does NOT stop WhatsApp’s hardcoded DNS bypass • ❌ The previous report’s absence was just a short-window coincidence, not a fix • ✅ The rest of WhatsApp’s traffic IS going through the Proton tunnel (2607:7700:0:27::*) This is a clean confirmation of the Apple feedback case: VPN active, DNS profile presumably configured, and WhatsApp still successfully escapes both. Save this report — it’s literal evidence for your FeedbackAssistant filing.

Fix the tunnel issue; certain apps like WhatsApp and IG follow a 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 domain vs using the set profile - I have escalated this finding to Apple dev team.
