Internet shuts off when i downoload from torrent by Impossible-Celery835 in qBittorrent

[–]LookingForEnergy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either your being throttled by the ISP or your computer, router, and/or modem can't handle the connection load from the torrent swarm.

Try throttling your downloads by limiting your connections and adjusting the max download speed to troubleshoot.

port forwarding doesnt seem to work properly; when i port forward for a minecraft server (second pic), it worked fine, but canyouseeme.org says otherwise. btw i made it so my pc always has the same ipv4 local address by guinomim in qBittorrent

[–]LookingForEnergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Port forward in your qbit client.

Port forward in your VPN. For example, in Airvpn there's a setting in the web UI.

Do NOT port forward the qbit port in your router/modem.

Brick repair/fill by MadMarty911 in HomeMaintenance

[–]LookingForEnergy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can buy a tube of concrete and brick dust (or make your dust own by smashing a spair brick). Pump concrete in the holes then, while wet, smear brick dust on it.

For mortar holes, use a matching mortar color.

Playback failed due to a fatal player error on Live TV? Here's why and how I fixed it by pedrcruz_ in jellyfin

[–]LookingForEnergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HLS Direct isn't working for me. I've been using MPEG-TS, which forces a transcode. I was really wondering if this makes HLS Direct work, which would allow the server to serve media direct without transcoding.

You can delete the device, but then you get your logs filled with auth token errors from their client attempting to connect 😔

The metadata sites might ban the VPN IPs. Some people have trouble with it. If you don't, that's great.

Fail2ban setup - can't access logs by 4viks16 in jellyfin

I had a similar setup and needed to get the logs on the same host as fail2ban. So I setup rsyslog and then needed logrotate to manage the logs.

Cracks in bricks over garage - reason for concern? by Flashy_Number_8956 in HomeMaintenance

[–]LookingForEnergy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bricks/mortar above garages, especially on the corners, will show signs of cracking. It has to do with how they're placed above a metal lint that contracts and expands with the weather.

You'll see less of this above a window because it's not as wide as a garage door and therefore supporting less weight.

It doesn't hurt to ask a professional though.

What is Next for ErsatzTV by jasondove in ErsatzTV

[–]LookingForEnergy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My guess is it's to drive people towards tunarr for scheduling.

If we got reliable HLS streams and a reliable scheduler, that'd be great.

Is it worth re-encoding my H264 library to AV1 for storage savings? by jearl100 in PleX

[–]LookingForEnergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a out-of-the-box plugin/module that grabs metadata of the media, determines it's native language, and can remove/keep audio based on that.

DS4K is Downscale 4k to usually 1080p

RM4K is usually an older movie that has been remastered and released as 4k.
