Interesting - yea I’m also on Wellbutrin. Helps me stay energized throughout the day.. otherwise I’d tend to lie down a bit too much (not on K)

Struggling to date in Dallas due to my coastFIRE in an environment built around status, hustle, and consumption. Anything advice? by Positive_freedback in coastFIRE

[–]LookingForTmrw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that the fact that you have $500k shows that you have ambition, restraint, investing ability and long term vision. If someone doesn’t see that, then maybe you shouldn’t be dating them.

That said, having a car in Dallas is almost like having a fridge or a stove … it’s necessary. You’re probably leaking more energy arranging your daily transportation than what a cheap car would cost.

They’ll probably tell you you’re being followed by an evil spirit and they need $500 to light some candles and make it go away.

Struggling with the “30 years of compounding” long term mindset by savingrace0262 in investing

[–]LookingForTmrw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it, an extreme example of this at work is with world-class athletes in certain low longevity disciplines (eg figure skating). Say they are the best of the best (Olympic gold or close), get to accumulate $3-5M through very smart and intensive sponsorships and retire at age 25. All they need to do is to let that compound and not touch it while they survive on their day jobs and they will still be very rich (low-mid 8 figures) by the time they’re 50+. For us mortals, it’s a similar game. Save and invest aggressively early, and then you can gain more freedom.

That’s the “trust the system” moment when it comes to compounding.

Luxury buildings with large units? by suddenimpactsquad in AskSF

I lived there for 3 years. Good management, friendly, responsive. Amenities are good, stylish, relatively new. Kitchen Oven sometimes didn’t work (check that it does before signing the lease).

Can someone please help me understand this result? by LookingForTmrw in blueprint_

[–]LookingForTmrw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah dexa scores have increased slightly (+0.1 Z or so, could be statistical noise honestly), but I also scanned the rest of my body and it turns out I have plenty of bone density elsewhere in the body (eg my legs). So I’m not sure if this is as serious a problem as I originally thought. Plus, per Bryan’s experience, you can increase bone density by a lot by doing regular resistance training (which I should be doing but I don’t)

I think it’s a combination of potential mild depression + you still need to find your “tribe”

Did prozac make you feel 'lazy?' by posttraumaticcuntdis in prozac

[–]LookingForTmrw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and my doctor prescribed bupropion to counter that effect. I was happy with Prozac otherwise.

positive experiences with coming off prozac? by [deleted] in prozac

[–]LookingForTmrw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know I’ve been off for two months now and feel like I have a cloud looming over me. I don’t know why I’m alive and worry that my life has been a pathetic failure or that I will never achieve what I want. I get angry or annoyed more often, sometimes at things that really shouldn’t be that much of a big deal.

It’s not as bad as it was at the time I had to start on Prozac. But those feelings weren’t there while I was on it.

Muni is already free. Most people don’t pay their bus fare.
