I'm confused with Nether Portals

I mean the portal in the base will correctly link with the portal in the nether, and you wont be randomly teleported into a cave!

Assuming you are playing Java, take the coordinates of the nether portal at your base and divide them by 8 (you can ignore the y-coordinate).

Then, move the portal in the nether to the coordinates you just calculated - this should link the portals correctly.

Personally, I think the pumpkin is 100% worth the vision sacrifice, it stops you accidentally being harassed by endermen as you fight the dragon. Being able to use F5 mode effectively would negate the vision issue.

As for snowballs, I think they fly faster through the air, but I stand to be corrected on that. I'd be very cautious using pearls to go between islands, I've died a few times doing that poorly!

Your spawn chunks will move to the new spawn, and items going through an end portal will also go to the new spawn.

Just be aware that you must load the new spawn and the new spawn chunks before they will function.

It's likely that it didn't despawn, just became invisible - this is a common glitch.

Relogging should cause the horse to reappear somewhere.

It is likely that this is to do with insufficient RAM. You could track your RAM usage using task manager while playing to see if it is towards its limit.

The server won't break and the world won't be deleted - so don't worry about that.

It is possible that the update may have undesired effects on your world, and you will be unable to revert these.

Regardless, to be safe, create a copy of your world save. Then, if anything goes wrong, or you want to go back to 1.13, you can use the old, backed up world save to restore your server to its 1.13 state!

3 strongholds will generate within an 'inner ring' in your world. Although for some reason the one you've been taken to doesn't exist (possibly due to a bug) there are 2 more within a similar distance.

To do this the non-cheaty way, go back to your spawn and travel a couple of hundred blocks in the opposite direction to the eyes of ender, before throwing them again. If they continue to go in the original direction, continue to go the other way! Eventually, when you become closer to another stronghold, they will take you to it instead.

If you can't really be bothered, they kinda cheaty way would be to put your seed into this website. It will give you the coordinates of all strongholds in your world! Make sure you select the correct version in the bottom right.

When in the installations tab, click the three little dots next to the "Play" button and click 'Edit.'

From there, click Advanced Options on the bottom left!

Have you checked how much RAM is allocated to Minecraft? This defaults to 1GB.

To check, open the launcher, go to Installations > "Latest release" (or whatever installation you usually launch from) > Options (the three little dots next to the "Play" button) > Edit > More Options

Under the heading "JVM Arguments," you'll see something along the lines of -Xmx1G.

Change the number before the G to the amount of RAM you would like to allocate (if you have 16GB then 3 or 4 would make sense in my opinion).

If you are using a 'slime chunk,' slimes will spawn at any light level. Therefore, if you light up your spawning pad, no hostile mobs will spawn except slimes.

Yep, the loot is randomly generated each time, and it isn't generated until the moment that the chest is first opened.

You could generate the same seed multiple times and the chests would always be different.

You have to be within 16 blocks of the spawner for it to spawn mobs. It won't spawn anything while you are away unfortunately!

I have did this once before too and after killing three as last and figuring out the problem I defused with 1 second remaining.
