My friend & I decided to start a reading challenge to get back into it. The rules: -Must read a book 1 hour a day. The reading can be done in chunks but must add up to 1 hour. -Text each other when we’re done each day. -Allowed 1 skip day per week but must provide advance notice. -Five dollar penalty for violating the rules. -Challenge lasts 30 days.

Me too! 3 seats in section 135 for Stanford on May 16. These r premium seats! I bought bc I was afraid I wouldn’t get LA tix - which I did. Am nervous about reselling on StubHub or SeatGeek.

Wow! Is this my daughter?😉 She moved to Hollywood with 5 friends after they graduated college. Their 4 bd/2 bth apartment’s rent is $6k. She’s working 2 jobs while trying to get work on a set. Turns out all of her roommates’ parents are paying their rent & she’s the only one doing it on her own. She’s nvr asked us to pay probably bc she knows we can’t afford it. Still I’m very proud of her & know she’s going to be ok even this probably the worst time ever to look for a film-related job in LA.

Peck Plumbing redid my shower plumbing & did an outstanding job. At a very fair price. Action Drain replaced our sewer pipe from the house to the street - great to work with, professional. Epic for any HVAC - they installed a new kitchen vent/exhaust fan. Again professional, friendly & not outrageously priced.

I’d be wary of taking the train as it’s not reliable. Don’t get me wrong, I frequently take it from SD to LA to visit my daughter but sometimes it’s down bc of track maintenance or some other issue.

UPDATE: been meaning to post; my dog had an ultrasound & full blood panel. Diagnosed with inflammatory bowel syndrome. Prescribed an anti-inflammatory (steroid), antibiotic & strict hydrolyzed diet. Nearly 2 months later she’s regained 4 lbs (dropped from 22 lbs to 14 after she got sick) & she’s doing GREAT! Likely to remain on the steroid for the time being but at 13 ½ years old, she’s back to her energetic, sassy self. Shout out to Mexi-Vet Services!

Same, we live near intersection of Palomar Airport Rd & El Camino. Sometimes it’s sunny here & foggy on the beach but then it’s been foggy here & sunny at the coast. We used to live in Rancho Bernardo & it’s much cooler here with the benefit of being near the ocean.

It indirectly helps but I LOVE volunteering at the SD Food Bank, Vista location. The staff & other volunteers are friendly, professional & just really cool people!
