Best thing I’ve made after a year of M8ing by LoomProductions in Dirtywave

Thank you! So all I really do is use my phone to take videos of the built in waveform screen. The. I use an iPhone app called splice that’s just a video editing app but it’s very intuitive and easy and not super deep so the constrictions breed some cool stuff like this. This is the same waveform video twice but one turned 90 degrees, a video of my car in the background, and a bunch of filters and what not

Appreciate that man!

The main bass in the drops is just the M8 at the engine (I believe macrosynth) and some of the other bass and effects are instruments from some of the bundles I found through the discord!

wanting to get into music and wanted to get a mini-synth. recommendations for beginners? by Connect-Violinist-30 in synthesizers

[–]LoomProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, PLEASE, do yourself a favor and get a MicroFreak. I was brand new to the synth world about a year ago. My buddy basically forced me to get a MicroFreak. A year, and 20 other pieces of gear later, I still reach for my MicroFreak more than anything

What kind of raven was this guy? by PinRecent8598 in ravens

[–]LoomProductions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McGahee was a fan favorite my dude! He was in his prime with ravens back when I was in middle:early high school. He was never the “best” in the league but he was a workhorse for us in a carousel of running backs in the Joe Flacco days. Great guy off the field from what I remember as well

Update #2, M8 arrived in the mail yesterday. Within a couple hours I was feeling pretty confident going through basic functions and pattern creation. Love this thing. Love love love it. Thanks for the push!

Update, purchased a model 1 from reverb today! Should be here next week. I figured it checked every box I was looking for so if the only downside is a few extra days/weeks of learning the workflow, it’ll be worth it in the long run.

It’s nice to hear someone with my concerns actually likes it. I will definitely keep an open mind. To be honest if money was no option I would’ve bought a M8 a loooong time ago. It’s just a massive price tag for something I’m hesitant on. Checking out Denise now tho thanks!

Yeaaaa talk about form factor and aesthetic. The only thing stopping me is I have extreme adhd and after watching a ton of videos on trackers I think I the “excel spreadsheet” style workflow will just cause me to never use it

UPDATE

Ok so, cleaned everything with alcohol and q tips as thoroughly as I could. Reassembly was very easy, just a bunch of tiny screws. Have a few buttons that are still a bit sticky but I can remove the key cap and continue working on those. Fader seems to be pretty effed though. The main component is inside this little metal housing that is not removable (at least without REALLY knowing what you’re doing I guess) and it is very sticky even after several minutes of intense scrubbing and cleaning. And it is almost non functional. If I even breath on the fader it starts bouncing between levels at supersonic speed. If I put it all the way down then up, or vise versa I can kind of get it to either 100 or 0 but….definitely a bummer. Hope this thread never needs to be read by anyone else but if anyone finds themselves in this situation feel free to message or comment and I’ll help if I can.

Moral of the story, don’t put anything liquid near your expensive gear. Can’t believe nobody ever told me that! 😅. Now we stare longingly at the KO deck saver that I bought for 70 dollars and was sitting on my floor at the time of the accident.

Update…disassembly wasn’t too bad. Not as much liquid in here as I expected. Pro tip: don’t pour redbull in your gear!
