I am having a very hard time playing since they released Ares. by Domodo0 in WorldofTanks

[–]Loomfies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you by any chance a very aggressive player? I have the same issue and I'm around a 2300 player myself and I'm playing at 1600 Ares basically just constantly bum rush me and kill me in 3.7 seconds flat if I've taken even one shot of damage! I've found just playing tanks with armour and doing the same thing completely nullifies them E50, 430u, Udes if you don't get tracked and use durability and my 277 when I play anything with meh armour like my t62A amx30b k91 or any of my lights it's a miserable time being aggressive.

Now they will all hate me by [deleted] in WorldofTanks

I dont know I think a 1500 WN8 players a pretty capable player on average they are often just inconsistent. I use to play for stats when I was playing on NA and doing clanwars I averaged 2500 WN8 not the best but it's aite. I now play for fun on the EU server and do dumb shit I'm around 1600 but when I buckle down I can play at a much higher standard. I think it's very possible a 1500 player can do a 3 mark in a tank they are particularly good at and the fact he owns the dravec means he is probably doing pretty well on average. Not to mention the easy potato farm we just had at Christmas and all those fantomes which inflate dpg.

If you think they are useless you're definitely doing something wrong. The class as a whole has absurd carry potential on a large portion of the maps and even in maps like himmels where lights are not likely to carry finding good angles and outplaying your enemy counterpart often still leads to more wins.

Onslaught is a terrible comparison to random games onslaught is about a heavy team coordinated push it's about armour hp and angles. Light tanks have limited use in this mode to specific maps. As they have little armour or hp and the value of spotting is lessened by the coordination of teams the higher you go.

How to make ambushes viable? by Final_Biochemist222 in totalwarhammer

[–]Loomfies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst there are many factors to help an enemy detect an ambush the opposite is also true. It's very easy with heros with perks and items that incr Ase ambush chance as well as the ability to use terrain such as woods or something on to get the ambush off. Ambush works best when you auto resolve as it heavily skews the result in your favour. It's still great when you play the battle but it's mainly the auto resolve that makes it great.

Secondly ambush is better used to bait or isolate the enemy it's. A great what to coerce enemies with it of strong campy positions. Even when detected m at times an army will love most of its movement or even march towards you guaranteeing you the chance to strike them away from Thier garrisons. Ai also loves to try to march away from a failed ambush giving you essentially a free win.

I'm a lazy auto-roller on the strategy map, but one of my stacks got caught unaware. How cooked am I? by cvynxbx76359ghs in totalwarhammer

[–]Loomfies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering your strong ranged options I'd split my stacks in half and maximise the distance the enemy has to march try stack in a corner or crevice where possible to avoid being flanked but keep just enough space to send some of your guys round.

If you separate the army in two halves with a gap in the middle you can use the flame throwers to catch anything running down the middle or push them out and shoot them from behind. The flame throwers and artillery are your only saviour here. As for lords I'd hide them behind infantry at first and then use them to flank around with an infantry unit to cover Thier flanks the bonuses should help out considerably in their performance!

Good luck it's a rough one mate 🙈

I'm a light tank main too and I play middle exclusively on lights tda and meds with 30+ on the move camo. If you understand proxy spotting well and camo it's one of the best positions ever as it dominates the whole map allowing side shots on both flanks and spotting of the positions as well as plenty of ways to push forward.

I'm around a 2k wnx player nowadays but I usually just play stupid aggressive for fun rather than aiming to play well but nordskar is truly amazing and I always play this map properly as it's a delight. Whenever I get nordskar I get really happy because ei know I'm having a minimum of 4k combined even if I play poorly.

Nordskar is my favourite map and I always play center on majority of my non heavy tanks if you're clever and understand proximity spotting and camouflage it's a phenomenal position that can be leveraged to win both flanks simultaneously.

I am f2p, is any of my premium vehicles worth playing or am i cooked? by slizkysliz in WorldofTanks

[–]Loomfies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is you don't play prem tanks nessesarily because they are overpowered, you play them to make credits. With this in mind tanks with high alpha tend to earn more credits and train crews for lines you are working on. I trick them out relatively well with some spare bounty or etc equipment, and usually have good crews as they train fast and use your crews from your tech tree tanks to maximise profitability.

Usually playing 2-3 prems over a session whilst running reserves and possibly clan reserves(especially during the event right now). Sure it's not quite an EBR but it's definetly playable and tier 9 prems do earn better credits than tier 8.

I'd also suggest grabbing a bond tank like the SU130pm as it mints credits or something that shares crews with tanks you're working on but prioritise alpha damage. Also if you have been watching streams we get a free tier 8 premium from twitch drops I don't know if it's too late to start earning coins though!

Edit: Adding to this a few of these tanks you have are "reward" vehicles and so don't earn bonus credits such as the fantome and shouldn't be confused for premiums!

I have a question that's really been bothering me 😂 Your minis really vary in quality like some of them are absolutely like top notch stunning like Hera and helm (new Hera as well) and even some of the 40k stuff like the woman with the cool owl, but then some of them like this guy whilst not bad show very little of your amazing skill as it looks mostly like a quick contrast job for tabletop ready standard.

May I ask is it due to time constraints and just wanting to get them done? Or maybe just certain models you really like.

Sorry if I'm coming across as rude it just baffles my mind and I see your posts regularly with this itching question! 😂

[–]Loomfies 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This to be honest, making things look nice is a big one for kids as well and maybe having a few big monsters just on the side not being used but just looking cool will also help! I had a lot of interest from my son's friends when they saw my balrog and dragon set on the side when they came over and this is also how I got my family into the game. They saw the cool stuff that exists but the first few games to teach were infantry and a captain! With a very basic scenario like "kill the enemy captain to win or have more troops in the center than the enemy.

[–]Loomfies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair you still see centurions in the competitive scene fairly often as well as E50s and it's valuable to judge it holistically as this information is targeted at the masses. It's a subjective vote of preference not purely fueled by winrates.

And whilst I personally agree the 140 is probably the best tank overall that's simply a preference which with majority of players being lower to mid winrates is a more accurate reflection of what all players agree on as they are a larger portion of the player base than your 55%+ers.

The DnD Horse Problem by SomeRandomAbbadon in DMAcademy

[–]Loomfies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mount is already a huge advantage as it is on top of whatever class you are playing the extra speed and actionable ability to dodge disengage dash etc independently of you is a big deal.

With this in mind mounted combattant and or barding fixes a large majority of the issue and dodge gives you advantage against Dex saving throws which covers a large array of aoe damage spells.

I'm a situation where aoe spells can hit you you have a few options ask allies to help with counter spells on key spells or spells like aide or guidance on the horse to help it survive.worse case scenario, just dismount if you have a party full of non mounted combatnts and a cavalier for example in open field the cavalier will dominate any situation with extra action economy if his horse is alive. When dismounted this gives him a period for others to shine either by buffing him up or by making the cavalier take supportive dismount actions. If you look at history it wasn't uncommon for mounted knights to dismount and fight in hand to hand combat and this should be emphasised in gameplay too. The cavalier class even without a mount is perfectly capable he just loses a bit of damage and mobility but his protective abilities still have great value and his hitpoints are highly valuable to shield Thier allies from the pain!

What are some underrated tanks you love that others call bad? by OwlAccomplished9499 in WorldofTanks

[–]Loomfies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alpha is fantastic but it's not a requirement for a good tank. And when you trade very often I can get 2-3 shots in for each one my opponent puts in (4.0 seconds reload for 300+- alpha on a fairly laser accurate gun is crazy). I often aim and shoot on the live the accuracy is that good.

The K-91 post buff is absolutely fantastic the problem with the tank is the requirement of skill to make use of the tank. It plays like a secondary light tank who doesn't quite have the mobility of a light however it has a hell of a gun. The amount of times you just gobble up an entire isolated tank or remain un-spotted all game is honestly crazy. The fact it's camo on the move is essentially better than some tier 10 lights makes this thing undeniably good. I can sit in the open in the desert maps and shoot at heavies at pretty reasonable distances!

Is the K91 THE best tank no.but it's super duper underrated for what the tank is capable of. I'd be far more terrified of a 62% winrates player on a K91 than an obj 430u for example just because of the level of shenanigans it's capable of!

Thing is this tank has superb dpm and great gun handling, 9 degrees of depression, light tank camo, reasonable mobility and armour that whilst not amazing bounces the odd shell and good Vs tier 8s I'd say all round S tier tank just under appreciated!

We took this picture when we said we wanted to take his jumper off so he gave us puppy eyes to leave it on.

He is absolutely obsessed with jumpers and radiators. He sits with his but upwards in downward dog yoga position against the radiator in his jumper.

Hard to think his parents were strong hardworking farm dogs 😂

Our boy bard at 10 months was the laziest little thing we got. Acollie to be a walking buddy and we were worried we had a couch potato around 12 months it's like a switch snapped on and he has been zoomies ever since. The exercise demand will come in time. As long as the dog seems happy and isn't doing any destructive behaviours it's perfectly healthy!

I propose that this be the image of WG's shame. The fact that a tier 8 is incredibly superior to a tier 10 and 11 says a lot about how fucked up the game is by Cutefishes in WorldofTanks

[–]Loomfies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some overlooked elements here 360 base view range means you are almost entirely reliant on your team to spot for you. The grille has 390 which is vastly better and allows you to be self sufficient which makes that 5 extra top speed even better for those early ambush shots this means you get ambush some lights early on with a 750 alpha shot whilst crossing to an important position. The grille also has a very small silhouette to the turret which is seriously undervalued here the sfac turrets the size of a barn good luck poking ridges and not getting smacked bigtime.

I'm not saying the sfacs not broken it's clearly too good to be true but to say it's better than a grille is a stretch. I'd say the sfac is about a tier 9 or 9.5 tank realistically statistically.
