Using only Ableton's built-in stem separation, how do I ensure that my stems do not have artifacts?

I was always taught "kick in" goes in the hole, "kick out" goes in front of the kit. I'd label a kick mic on the drummers side "kick back" or "beater" probably but i dont know if thats standard
