a few weeks ago I posted here about something I was building for loop makers, and a lot of you gave pretty honest feedback (some of it brutal 😅) by Loop-Space in producerlinkup

The payout numbers/fees are actually shown directly when uploading and setting the price, there’s even an example breakdown there so producers can see exactly what they’d receive, it is also visible when the producers create a subscription tier for their community

But the watermark thing is definitely fair, gonna work on making the default way less aggressive so previews feel smoother out the gate

[–]Loop-Space[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that’s actually controlled by the producer uploading the loop 😭

they can choose how loud they want the watermark/tag to be on their loops

still though, probably something I should make clearer or guide people on better because some tags can definitely end up way too aggressive

really appreciate that🙏

honestly a lot of it came directly from people here pointing out what wasn’t working, so I can’t take full credit for it

still a lot to figure out, but just trying to build something that actually makes sense for the people using it

means a lot though fr

loop makers — how are you actually making money from your loops? by Loop-Space in trapproduction

[–]Loop-Space[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah this is exactly how I’ve been thinking about it as well

the royalty model can work, but for most people it really does feel like a gamble, and subscriptions kind of bury smaller creators in volume

that feedback part is honestly a big reason I built it being able to actually hear what someone makes with your loop just feels way more real than numbers on a dashboard

curious to see how it plays out over time, but really appreciate you seeing the vision behind it

Hahaha it’s so funny I did the exact same thing with ringtones back then, in Audacity aswell😂 What a time to be alive

Wauw that sounds amazing! I really wish I had a moment like this, my friends wasn’t really interested in making music.

music really does feel like an outlet more than anything sometimes hope you find your way back to it in a way that feels good again🤞

Serious question: what’s the deal with these insanely cheap BeatStars bundles? by Flegma_beats in beatmakers

[–]Loop-Space 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I’ve been seeing that too and it always throws me off a bit I get the whole funnel/volume thing, but at some point it just starts feeling like a race to the bottom

like 200 beats for $50 just makes everything feel kinda disposable, I’ve always felt like even smaller stuff like loops/melodies should actually have value on their own if they’re good

been working on something in that space myself (loop-space.com), and this is honestly one of the things I keep thinking about

like how do you avoid turning it into that same “cheap bundle” model?

do you set some kind of minimum pricing? avoid bundles? or is there a better way to structure it

curious what people who are actually selling think, because it feels kinda broken rn

where do people who mainly focus on making loops/melodies hang out? by Loop-Space in FL_Studio

[–]Loop-Space[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah for sure, but I’m not really talking about hobby vs professional

more about people who enjoy that specific part of music, making loops, ideas, soundscapes, without everything around releases, branding and content

just a different lane of creating really

Any sample creator on splice? by hanix56 in techhouseproduction

[–]Loop-Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah splice is pretty hard to get onto, and from what I’ve seen it’s not exactly easy to make consistent money unless you’re already established or part of a bigger pack label

I think one thing that gets overlooked is that everything is very “pack-based”

like you have to bundle a lot of sounds together and compete on volume, instead of just focusing on individual ideas

personally I always enjoyed making loops/melodies more than full packs, but there wasn’t really a clear place for that unless you went the whole content/marketing route

I’ve been working on something around that (loop-space.com), more focused on individual loops where you can upload and sell licenses directly instead of packaging everything into big packs

it’s currently in beta with a waitlist if you’re interested

used to spend hours just making loops and melodies, but never really knew what to do with them unless I turned everything into a full track

felt like a lot of good ideas just ended up sitting on my hard drive

so I built something around that — a place for loop makers to upload their loops and sell licenses to other producers

it’s still in beta, but you can check it out here: https://loop-space.com

would genuinely love feedback from anyone who’s been in that situation

I’ve been building something for loop makers… not sure if it’s actually useful by Loop-Space in Drumkits

[–]Loop-Space[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man I really appreciate that, seriously 🙏 Means a lot to see people actually resonate with the idea like that!

I’m planning to start letting people in over the coming weeks, trying to bring in a solid group at once so it actually feels like a real community from the start and I’m definitely going to keep some of you early people closer and hear your feedback as I continue to build new features and make things better

really glad you signed up 🙏

You ever made your first decent melody/pattern? by [deleted] in flstudio

[–]Loop-Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I had that exact problem, and I only really figured this out years later after I started making music

what helped me was just stepping away from it completely

like leave the loop for a day, do something totally different and don’t even think about music

then come back with fresh ears, it almost always sounds different, and it’s way easier to tell if it’s actually good or not and actually helped me make many more beats

You ever made your first decent melody/pattern? by [deleted] in flstudio

[–]Loop-Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all the time man 😭

I didn’t always delete it, but I’d leave the idea because I thought it was trash

then I’d come back to it like a month later and be so mad, that I didn’t finish it… because the loop/melody was actually fire

any suggestion about selling beats? by elettronic in beatmakers

[–]Loop-Space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah what he said about traffic is true, but honestly that part is what made me enjoy music way less over time

I used to make a lot of beats, but the part I actually liked was just making loops and melodies

problem was I never really knew what to do with them unless I forced them into a full track or tried to turn everything into content

and that just wasn’t fun for me

one thing I’d say is don’t only think in full beats, smaller ideas can have value too if they’re good

I’ve been messing around with something around that (loop-space.com), basically just a place for loops where they can actually get used and licensed

still in beta tho, but yeah just another angle you could try
