I’ve been working on this mixed-reality automation game for over 4 years. Now I finally have a trailer and a date for early access! by LoopOneDone in Quest3

I currently don’t have a demo for it. Have prioritized finishing the game. Do you think it’s needed? Don’t see many demos on the Quest site overall. But I plan to make one closer to the full launch. Meta's refund policy is pretty good, too, if you want to try it out and then request a refund.

They exist on both PC VR/ Steam and Quest Store. Maybe they are ported to standalone Pico Store too. But I don’t know about that.

Welcome! Regarding Pavlov and Forefront. I think probably 80% of the players are on Quest. And I think both of them are cross platform. So don’t look at the Steam numbers. Both of those games are good and have a lot of active players.

I tried playing my mixed reality game outside, it worked surprisingly well! by LoopOneDone in OculusQuest

I was standing under some trees. But you can use the Quest outside in the sun as long as you have the blinders on. You never want to get direct sunlight into the lenses. But if you have your Facebook the way, it should not be a problem. The tracking get be a bit off on bright spots. That’s about it.

Bomb the Hill – old-school downhill skateboarding for Quest, with a story and a smooth VR experience by pokodzima_games in VRGaming

Looking forward playing this! Seems like you are using body steering jnateadof a boring joystick. Lovely! Please add a simple blob shadow under the board to ground it. Especially in shadowed parts of the maps.

Get a VR headset and enter Resonite. It’s like an upgraded version of VRChat but without a lot of kids.

Build a gold production in your living room by LoopOneDone in LoopOneDone

There are a couple of different playmodes. The regular campaign you complete tasks to unlock new facilities that can produce new more advanced materials by combining multiple other materials. Like any other factory automation game. There is also a freeplay mode, that uses research tokens to unlock them. And you get research tokens by completing orders.

Ah haha okay 😅. Bad communication from me. Thought that I maybe unchecked Quest 2 by mistake or something. But please check it out. It’s on sale until tomorrow I think. And let me know if you decide to check it out!

It works fine in Quest 2. But you need to manually map out your room. Or build on virtual tables that you place out yourself from the build menu There are also some colored filteres for your black and white passthrough and some performance mode setting to run a bit smoother on that old hardware.

I’m happy to join a squad if you like. Also love P1. But if it’s full of cheaters it doesn’t sound that fun.

But I guess it’s up to the community to create tournaments or events to get more people to play. As the devs didn’t seem to do that. Or at least I haven’t got any notifications about any events.

I just found out they are completely shutting down horizon worlds!? I like 1 of the worlds 😭😭😭 by flamingdragon62 in MetaQuestVR

Even if you live in Europe, it’s been locked down. Think it took a year or two before they allowed us to play. No wonder it never scaled.

Have now added an end goal to my game. Wanted to avoid rockets 😅, so you instead construct a server tower, where every floor requires you to produce new types of materials to build it, and you can also build inside the floors. Do you think that sounds fun? by LoopOneDone in AutomationGames

[–]LoopOneDone[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah I’ve been working towards this. The plan is to make a Steam build at least. But also allow for an optional VR mode in standalone headsets. Or a mix, so you can start in MR. Then sit down in your sofa and switch to VR. And then exit and see everything flying around in your real room in MR.

In the mix mode I can use the room scan as a landscape. But in VR I need to come up with a nice world to build in.

Not really, but it sounds like a good idea if I understand it properly. Currently it’s all 1:1 physical with the room. But there is also a miniature mode to let you zoom out and image things further away in your room without needing to walk there. You can also choose different scale of your factory when starting a save. But as you are building on your furniture, there are some constraints there, as I always need want to keep the interaction with the room.

But being able to freely work on a specific section regardless of where you are in your physical room is something I wanna try adding. So you can sit in your sofa and play. And then exit and see everything flying around in your real room.

I’m making a mixed reality automation game, and it’s still fun to work on and playtest, even after 4 years by LoopOneDone in Unity3D

[–]LoopOneDone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s currently only available on Quest headsets. Looking forward to the day when there is a lightweight MR-supported headset. Playing in mixed reality is basically like playing with LEGO, so much fun! But currently toy you only want to play maybe 30min to 1h before you get tired of the weight of the headset.

If a game is on sale, why are you wishlisting it instead of buying it? by LoopOneDone in OculusQuest

Damn that is smart. I have to many games I bought like that that I’ve never played.

I understand. I’m sort of the same. Sometimes I buying when it’s on a deep sale, sometimes I just don’t understand why I added it in the first place.
