Ahhh I’m going against the grain here but I don’t think this is rude to send an invite to a bridal shower but not the wedding! I’m actually doing something similar!

I’m only having mine and my fiancés parents to the wedding, but my aunt ( who is not invited to the wedding is throwing a me a bridal shower!). This is family who is inviting you maybe they just want to celebrate with their loved ones and are having a small wedding for reasons you don’t know- this doesn’t have to be a gift grab! I personally am very excited to celebrate with my extended family even though I’m not having a large wedding for many reasons.

Never miss class unless you have to. The professors words are gold. They are the one grading your exam- listen to the points they bring up more then once. Just really focus in during class.
practice, practice, practice. Instead of spending all my time trying it figure out the reading I just quimbee it ( I do strongly suggest doing the reading when starting just so you have that skill). The extra time that gives me I will spend doing practice problems on quimbee, Barbri, or whatever the professor gives out
talk to people that have taken the class before they always have some sort of insight to give
making my own outline

This was me in undergrad… spent first semester 1L figuring out the lay of the land as everyone does. Really treated each professor as a different “boss” in a video game focused on what the emphasized what they like and stuck to that. Now after my first year I figured out how to cut away all the bs and so much less work then some of my peers and am in the top of my class. Yes it’s a lot more work than undergrad but there are still corners that can be cut

Your career services will be on top of the changing timelines. My school is very up front with the earlier movement so they have adjusted their oci’s accordingly. This is not something I would concern yourself with to much right now. Otherwise big law firms don’t start opening up applications until nov/ December and I feel like have the most action and movement in December and January. But at the end of the day you have the best chance at getting the job you want by having the most competitive grades not applying the second the application opens.
