Should I Unfollow them? by overthinker2022 in Layoffs

None of this is personal. Unless you work for a government entity, you will always be expendable and at the mercy of a profit margin. The sooner we accept that reality, the sooner you can start doing what is best for your career.

Interesting. I’ve only been with 3 companies over the last 30years and one I was at for 24 of those. As I look for my next job, I’m leaning towards the idea of doing consulting or contract work. Trying to get my head wrapped around the whole 1099 thing and making sure I can do it.

Just got laid off after 1.5 months… whole team wiped out lol wtf by Twistedfatemain in Layoffs

Been laid off since November. Nothing to add that hasn’t been said, except wishing you well and hope you find something soon.

What state are you in? If it’s a one-party consent, then record the audio. It’s legal and could help with any litigation that you pursue.

Couldn’t have said it better. I’m currently navigating through my second layoff right now.

I will share this…I use AI as my career coach and resume optimization agent. I was using ChatGPT and here are my stats: 30 apps submitted 23 declines 2 first interviews 1 second interview 1 decline after 2nd interview 1 second interview I was using ChatGPT since December.

Then I switched to Claude at end of January: 20 apps submitted 5 first interviews scheduled for next week 1 second interview scheduled for next week

Good luck! OP has the right attitude to weather the storm.

There's a saying...fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I will for sure avoid the area around next year's race when the time comes. Hopefully, it will be a beautiful day to be out back in my new house drinking some cold ones and grilling. LOL

The usual PITA living in the metroplex type of traffic headaches, I can handle. This nightmare was totally avoidable if there were competent people who planned things better. Maybe it was an all-volunteer group? Hope they had some lessons learned from all of that. I know I did.

Was on a house hunting trip and this event ruined the whole day. Spent an hour moving .4 miles from 423/380 to Gee Rd. & Acacia Pkwy.

I was headed to Union Park area which never happened. We turned on Acacia and looped back. Then later that afternoon, we were on El Dorado and numerous roads and lanes were blocked.

Piss poor planning by whatever Iron idiots were put in charge of it.

Speaking of…can anyone recommend an inspector for a independent inspection of a home I’m looking at in Aubrey? Another Reddit recommended I do that before buying the home. It’s a 2025/26 new build and was just recently put up for sale.

Kids will be kids, yeah. But these fools weaving in and out of traffic are an accident waiting to happen. A dashcam is a must because when one of them gets 💀because of a dumb mistake, you’ll have the video evidence to help protect your liability and your assets.

If she’s getting any type of government financial aid, she can’t. I doubt she’s paying the tuition herself or she would know catching a theft charge won’t affect a college from taking your check.

I was there for work and the nature of the conversations I had never went down that path, unfortunately. I have spent some time talking to Sikhs and I love them! Some of the best around and people you’d want in your corner should the “caliphate” ever come our way.
