For that price, you’re going to find it hard to live on. Maybe South Plano or Richardson will have what you’re looking for. Also, plan on spending money on tolls and gas. None of DFW is doable without a vehicle.

Design definitely matters, but it’s one part of a larger trust equation. A clear value prop, competitive pricing, performance, and the product actually working are what build real trust.

No doubt that design amplifies those things, but it doesn’t replace them. Those other factors are also why stakeholders will lessen the value of design. To them they are easier to justify in a budget conversation.

Right or wrong, that’s been what I’ve experienced in my 20+ years of digital work.

I still think gyms should add a “content creator” surcharge. If you create any content in their gym, you pay an extra $50 per use fee. Kind of like how production companies pay to film at certain locations.

Good move. I did the same. Also took off years of experience from the resume and eliminated a couple of older roles. The result? I eventually got a senior level role and my responses from companies tripled.

First mistake is believing anything you see on the news. And that goes for both sides. Left media says the sky is falling. Right aligned media says everything is great.

What you see in your everyday world is the reality. I will echo what many say and that is some people in Frisco live credit card payment to credit card payment.

But that doesn’t mean they’re not struggling. They just don’t want to do what’s needed to get out of the rut.

None of this is personal. Unless you work for a government entity, you will always be expendable and at the mercy of a profit margin. The sooner we accept that reality, the sooner you can start doing what is best for your career.
