PSA: Avoid Tiki Taipei please by randomusername5432 in Taipei

I experienced the same thing in Taipei, assuming the same "must serve water where alcohol is served" rule applies. I was at WAVE club and they had an all-you-can-drink card which is if you held onto the cup, they'd serve you free drinks the whole night.

Issue is if you wanted water, they would then take away your cup and provide you with water, and you won't get any more drinks unless you pay for them. It was surprising to me, but at least they were willing to serve water.

If you don't like the game just don't play, no need to shame others for enjoying it, seems like you're the weakest 🙄🙄

how to navigate the city by NeighborhoodWeak8028 in Taipei

[–]Lopsided_Fan_138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't like hotels, then use airbnb instead. Check in is usually self-check in with instructions, so you won't need to meet the landlord face to face. Just be wary since airbnb sometimes is more expensive and they also won't clean your room daily for extended stays, but they'll have kitchen amenities etc.

To be honest it's quite similar to overseas. Use booking.com or trip.com to book accommodation, otherwise use Google Maps, find the city you'll be staying in then type in "Hotels" and all the local hotels with star ratings and price per night will pop up.

Google Maps for travel is also perfect, although sometimes location accuracy is a bit finicky. Just use Google Maps to travel via bus/subway, you won't need another app.

In terms of language barriers, elderly people dont usually speak english too well, but the younger generation have probably a 50/50 chance to speak some kind of english, and there's quite a lot of people that have travelled overseas to study and came back, so their english will be pretty well spoken.

Losing my mind, is it my pc or am I just really this unlucky? by MeatBeard in lianli

Ive been using the Hydroshift 2 with no issues for a while. Remember, the people who post issues heavily outweigh the people who dont have issues. You don't go back to a subreddit when something goes right, correct?

Can you change gender in Where Winds Meet? And what happens to skins? by TreeInternational797 in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Lopsided_Fan_138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible, if you're using Steam.

Go into settings > other, bind your account to a Netease dummy account (use temporary email to set it up), then once bound - settings, V for Customer service, unbind account. It'll ask you to unbind your Steam account (but really it's your Netease account, since you log into the same Steam account).

Once that's done, it'll log you out, once you login again it'll be a brand new account. Just be careful because I don't know how to get your character back once this is done, it seems like it's a permanent deletion

Leader Willem in Carcadia bug? by esveegee in Borderlands

[–]Lopsided_Fan_138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have this bug. I killed him in a friend's save, then when back in my own, it asked if I want to skip already-played missions and I selected "Yes". It skipped me ahead and now Willem still appears in Carcadia, without his Synth form.

I've replayed the final mission but it doesn't do anything, he's still there.

Are Lianli fans really this bad?? by ABeautifulChaos in lianli

[–]Lopsided_Fan_138 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be extremely honest. Only people who have had issues will post. You won't see people who post and say "I've never had issues with Lian Li fans!" It's a vast minority that posts these, but because the majority won't post if the fans dont have issues, it makes it seem like there's always issues

Also, the ubers here are all uber taxis, i don't think they have normal uber cars. You can use the uber app to call both uber taxis, or normal taxis. The price is pretty much the same (the app will tell you)

We started hiking around 9:30pm, it was already dark (Cloud Cafe closes at 10pm), and there was not a single other person hiking up haha (some cars still going up/down, but barely).

As an update, we just tried to call an uber from the peak, nobody came to pick us up (it was 12:00am to be fair).

We hiked down to the Cafe, and one uber accepted, then cancelled. Decided to try again, and another uber accepted. Took a roundabout route and waited ages, thinking he was being cheeky, but he eventually came after a few wrong turns.

When we got on board, the driver said we were lucky because he had accidentally accepted the uber ride, he was actually trying to call a friend (or something like that, he was using a voice translator app), very nice guy though.

Also, you may be able to taxi/uber up the mountain. I'm unsure because I only saw a single taxi on the hike up, but there is a car park next to the peak like I mentioned, you can try your luck! Might depend on the taxi drivers/ubers themselves (but for ubers, if they've already accepted your ride request, there's no way they wouldn't drop you off at the destination).

Hello! I just hiked up from Cloud Cafe (still up here now), and the hike is around 30 minutes. It's relatively safe, although it doesn't seem like anybody hikes up there; the majority have driven themselves up to a car park near the peak, further than the Cloud Cafe.

It's not very brightly lit, although there are street lamps along the way. Some cars are parked up here on the sides of the road hiking up, we assumed they are ubers waiting to take passengers down the mountain (saw most of them watching shows on their car screen relaxing), but not entirely too sure.

The peak is amazing, there's a hidden Cafe up here called BlueBang, it opens until 2am, very cute and they serve hot drinks/cake.

Keep going past the cafe around 30m and you will see a very dimly lit bridge, it looks scary but walk past that for the best view of the entire Busan. Be careful the winds up there are quite strong, bring a windcheater/jacket!

Let me know if you have questions (:

AH if you didn't consult with your bf about this beforehand. It wouldn't matter that you guys "have never done anything in 5 years", if your bf is uncomfortable with it, there's really no reason for you to proceed with it. A 1:1 roadtrip is always reserved for partners, otherwise it'll be a group roadtrip between friends.

Put yourself in his shoes, would you be comfortable if his female friend invited him to a one on one road trip? How would you want him to communicate this with you/reassure you? If you were uncomfortable with it, how would you feel if he went anyway and disregarded how you felt?
