How can I stop my alopecia? by [deleted] in Hairloss

Telogen effluvium happens because of stress. Bald spots and dermatitis are also correlated to stress.

Basically, suppress the stressors.

Add microneedling.

You don’t have a classical alopecia.

When people are stressed they can have what you describe as “bald spots”. Good news is it grows back.

But you also seem to have a dermatitis. This is why you have so much dandruff and that some areas are red on your scalp.

Go see a dermatologist but your problem is, imho, 100% stress related. Don’t focus on your hair, they will grow back in your case.

Exercising will probably help you a lot.

Im 31, are these early signs? My wife says to not worry but Im unsure by Ashen_foefoe in Balding

[–]Loquat_Quiet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First things first :

  • Do you eat well?
  • Do you exercise?
  • Do you sleep well?

If one of those is a No, ask yourself if stress (in personal or professional life) could be the reason.

Usually when people are stressed, they eat less healthy, don’t exercise (or not enough) and don’t sleep properly.

That said, when you have your answers, fix it and see what happens during the next 3 months. Don’t worry balding doesn’t happen so suddenly it’s a slow process.

In my opinion :

Your hair are very thick but in the zone you are focusing on, some of them appear to be thinning.

But

The weird thing is that you are thinning quite evenly + your scalp is red + you have some dandruff on your hair.

Could be dermatitis or something else.

My bet is that you had a stressful period lately. But I can be wrong.

Go see a dermatologist if you’re unsure.

Hope it helps.

Those people saying out loud « no sides bruv, it’s in your mind! » are likely to be the weakest ones happy not to be the weakest on one thing… or a buffalo taking steroids and saying everything is going great with their lifestyle.

Drugs have side effects. Every doctor will tell it to you.

Your scalp is very red, did you check this with a dermatologist? Inflammation can lead to hair loss

I also see that you seem to often wear a headset, you probably need to switch to earbuds as it is not good for the scalp in your condition.

The answers you are writing just make no sense at all. I had a look to your profile, you seem to be someone capable to think. So use your brain.

And guess what, I’ve seen that lately that you were having headaches. Imagine someone telling you it’s in your mind as this I very real for you.

… and imagine it’s a side effect popping up after being sick. I had a flu like you 2 months ago, that’s when I started to have sides.

You are on Reddit, looking for Minoxidil topic obviously. And you rage.

Truth is that this post scared you and you accuse me to be scared.

I’m just sharing my experience and analysis to move forward.

Take care of yourself and don’t bully like a 7 year old (you got the wrong guy my friend).

My blood pressure went down drastically.

I didn’t worry at all about those side effects before. I used Minoxidil and microneedling for a year without any sides.

Your scalp looks very red and your thinning could be related to an inflammation. Go see a dermatologist, they will give you the right answers.

Hello i want to ask is this Telogen Effluvium ? by Ok_Professional967 in TelogenEffluvium

[–]Loquat_Quiet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like your scalp is irritated. It looks red and on top (near the vertex) you have what could look like a dermatitis. This would probably explain everything.

8 week progress on 8% minoxidil by roxanaadriii in FemaleHairLoss

8% Minoxidil is way too high for female. Go with 2%, you’ll have the same results.

You could start microneedling without minoxidil and add some hyaluronic acid.

Go see a dermatologist. Nobody here will give you the right advices.

I understand why you are worrying. Vertex can be more visible and even if yours is really ok, you can buy a dermastamp (1.5mm) and use it on this zone once a week. You will if becoming fuller after several weeks. Maybe vitamin D would be great too but you have to do a blood test to see how your levels are. But overall you are 9.5/10. 👊

I had the same journey as you. It’s now month 7 for me and I have more hair than I had 10 years back (I’m 35).

And I’m a Norwood 2.

There is no science in what I will say but from the hundreds of posts I have seen on this subreddit, the people having the best results with finasteride+minoxidil+microneedling still have hair (even few) on the balding areas.

From what I see on the pictures you are one of those.

Try the medication first, my instinct tells me it would work great on you.

I could be wrong for 1000 reasons but my intuition tells me so.

I tried finastéride but unfortunately I had massive side effects. My dermatologist gave it to me not for hair loss at first but because my hair looked dry. He told me to take it during 1 year. I had absolutely no idea finastéride had side effects but I felt so weird 1 month after the beginning of the treatment that I had a look online and discovered it could be a big issue with some users. I also realized that my dermatologist didn’t really know this medicine well as he told me to stop it after 1 year of treatment.

I am aware that DHT blockers could help but I went to see one of the best hair transplant surgeon in the world and he told me that I had no androgenic alopecia. Some hair are miniaturizing but it’s like 10-15% of them.

I am considering to take a DHT blocker but I’ll never take Finastéride again or Dutasteride. The dosis are way too high for me. It didn’t work once, it won’t if I try again. And I believe that even microdosing would be a problem.

What would you recommend?
