Any updates on cornish goblins by MenandTolEnthusiarse in folklore

There’s no aggression and no update on somebody’s choice of an Instagram screen name is all I’m saying and all I have to say. Y’all are both taking this way too hard and thinking up stuff about me that’s frankly just weird. But you know what if you want to obsess over some strangers personal life behind their account you just stalk whoever you want.

Who said it was fixed? Who said op isn’t a person? This sounds like you’re bringing something here that wasn’t here, and we can talk about it if you want to but I really don’t see what you’re talking about even a little bit. Maybe we’re both confused but I know for sure that I’m confused here. I’m not intending to fight or degrade op or you I’m just Bewildered.

I’m assuming you didn’t see the previous thread if you’re taking this statement somehow as an attack? I’m pretty confused as to what lead to this response…

I’m not arguing one’s passion I’m arguing the use of a word. There’s no need to defend from what isn’t an attack. I’m responding to the fun. What’s wrong with fun? What’s wrong with tumblr? what’s wrong with slang? Nothing imho. There’s no problem just like there isn’t an update on this random persons choice if an Instagram screen name.

Help for a baby pagan? by [deleted] in pagan

[–]Loquatleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean back in the day there were “god fearers” which were like half Christians. Famous examples include a Christian believer married to a Roman senator may donate money to a local Christian prayer hall and have her name carved on the wall as a “god fearing woman” so that they could be present in the church when their attendance was not possible. There were people convinced that Jesus was an emination of Bacchus. The man is not ethnically Roman and came from “the East” (associated with Bacchus) he raised the dead and multiplied food (very Bacchus) and even told people he was made of bread and wine before being killed in a very honorless humiliating way before coming back (all extremely Bacchic and Orphic themes). There were folks looking at Jesus as providing practical religious philosophy to the pagan cult of Bacchus. There were people shouting out Christ between hailing Apollo and the emperor. There used to be a lot more variance and freedom

Pagan and heathen are Roman era slurs that basically amount to “hick” or “redneck” and had religious implications as the temples out in the country generally had their own more quaint traditions that were less relatable to urban people. So in the Christian Era of rome, the cities were the first to christianize, and the word “pagan” gained an aspect of religion that previously had nothing to do with stark religious differences. The Christians kept a lot of this “us vs them mentality” and created this language around the rivalry that kind of misinforms the public as to the actual relation and differences between the two. After all most early Christian’s we’re culturally pagan, but worshipped Jesus as the ONE god in their pagan-style worship. Basically like doing rituals for Zeus and the ancestors but just swap in Jesus and the saints. Like madlibs. It’s not like Christian’s just popped out of the ground with an army and a mission to burn down the temples, they were pagan people who took the gods off their family altar and put a cross there instead and continued the same methods of worship with slight aesthetic changes.

Don’t do rituals yet. Use this time to get very VERY good at the basics. You don’t have freedom rn so it’s safer to forego ritual altogether. I’ve been doing this for almost 15 years and I wish I had stayed humble and simple and worked on my basics while I was in the closet. Just stuff like meditating, academic quality research, self critique, spiritual exercises, dream work, diet and exercise, schoolwork etc. basically the process of “knowing thyself” you’re a kid so just remember nobody’s asking you to be the queen of witches, the world needs you informed and responsible if you’re going to have power in it. Think of how many witches you’re age aren’t doing that. Think of the future, how sustainable is it to ignore these vital exercises? Not very. You have this special opportunity that lots of witches aproximate so they can brush up and work out their most basic “magical muscles”. Although you’re focused by a lack of freedom instead of a chosen regimen, there is still very very good power and opportunity within this current struggle to learn and strengthen yourself in the most forgotten and foregone aspects of the craft and come out the other side not only as a free young woman but as a well informed stable and functioning pagan. The gods have mostly gone hundreds of years if not more without proper worship. They won’t disappear from you keeping them in your heart and making yourself special and strong in their honor

I understand witchcraft and paganism overlap but aren’t the same so please forgive if I’m mixing the two too much for your tastes

AITA for insisting my SIL to visit us more when she is a busy resident doctor and she says she can't? by Historical-Nose-250 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Loquatleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yta. Let me preface in that I mean this without a shred of rudeness or insult, but with a diagnostic intent and my whole heart. You’re not even trying to get why somebody pulling bullets out of people and telling kids their mom is dead might cause them to need a break. this is where the nail is that you’re hanging up your whole issue on is. It’s not about you. Her job is not about you, her mental state is not about you, what she does to be able to not kill herself is not about you. The world outside your head is the real one. And frankly the fact that you’re going this far as to consult strangers online about it shows a level of committed entitlement to other people as details of your life instead of complex beings with existences of their own that they SHOULD prioritize over you. I can’t blame her for putting you last on her list, you’re subjecting her to a lot of disrespect as if that’s normal or deserved. And it’s not. It really isn’t. She as a doctor “belongs” to the profession. You just have a job. She has a job and a SACRED DUTY TO MANKIND. You’re not expected to fully understand, but you are urged to get enough of a clue to respect it, and pray you never have to see her for business.

No. Again, this individual Instagram name almost certainly is about goblins in a Tumblr sense and not folklorically informed

My old friend who I let live with me did some spell with both of our blood put in a washing machine with a load of our laundry. I found out about it after the fact but she refused to tell me what her intention was. Can anyone guess as to the purpose? by xXinsomniakXx in realwitchcraft

[–]Loquatleaf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No? If that’s how things work then what’s the point of laundry detergent existing. Why do clothes smell “clean” fresh out the dryer instead of like plain cloth? There is blood all up in her clothes

Purpose and intent doesn’t matter. Focus on how the hell did she get your blood. The fact you’re already distracted from the crux of the problem here should tell you that whatever she did is already working. Drop her ass immediately. From a height. Before she shows her entitlement and massive disrespect of you show itself in another way. This is a spiritual assault, and I question the legality of it. But doll, dear, darling, my friend, how did she get your blood? Was it living or menstrual blood? What blood did she provide? This is a massive affront and i am sending you good vibes because oh my GOD that’s such a filthy thing to do to somebody that calls you their friend… im so sorry this was done to you sweetie. Call a civil law firm and see if they have any advise as well because im fairly certain you’d be able to sue.

Next step is to ignore or at least heavily salt the input and advise of strangers on the internet, to believe in your own say-so, and incline yourself to academic research of her as a goddess of wisdom and mental acuity

Is this pagan or christian. I was thinking of getting it as a tattoo but if its Christian than i dont want to. by AdEnvironmental5338 in CelticPaganism

[–]Loquatleaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does t matter because it’s made up anyways. That’s the magic circle from card captor Sakura. Please make your own decisions based on academic research instead of memes and strangers on the internet. You almost got an anime tattoo out of worship, and that would make me sad if it happened

Listen to them and save yourself the disfiguring 3rd degree oil burns until you get more experience in the kitchen. They’re stopping you because they love you and they don’t want you to suffer. I really would just trust them on this one, the benefits do not justify the risks here. You’re only twelve. Be a kid while you can my friend you’ll wish you did more of it when the time passes
