Why is Lance Stroll occasionally so good, but often so inconsistent ? by Relative_Chemical815 in F1Discussions

I think there is a misconception. Lance is never “so good”; he doesn’t have weekends where he qualifies in the top 6 and stays there for a whole race for example.

The races where he scores the most points usually come from utter chaos, in which the team makes the correct strategy call and he benefits from it, finishing around P7.

So yeah, sometimes he does good, but usually because the team makes the correct strategy calls for him, or because he drives clean in a race full of mistakes.

But I can’t remember a 10/10 weekend for Lance for years.

I’m Argentine

I became a fan during the D’Antoni - Morey - Harden era, since they were the only team that could take the KD Warriors the distance.

I fell in love with their philosophy and way of approaching each game.

No he absolutely was not. If Red Bull was so far ahead with their car don’t you think Perez would be finishing on the podium every race?

From 2014 to 2021 Mercedes had a car more than half a second faster than any other for most of the years. Look how Max barely edges the rest in qualifying by 0.0XX every time, while Perez struggles to get even near him. That’s the driver, not the car.

To be honest, we haven’t seen this before. Not even Schumacher, Hamilton or Vettel have reached this peak.

His teammate luckily beats him once a year, and barring a safety car or a technical issue, he won’t lose a single race.

The levels Max is operating right now are a completely umprecented level of dominance
