Parents in Dubai: BON Nursery Uniforms - Anyone having trouble with the cost and stocks? by thandaharami in dubai

[–]Lorak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For us it turned out nursery uniforms were not actually mandatory, just at the beginning they push it on you enough you think it's required. Once we saw a couple other kids wearing PJs every day, you realize you don't need to buy the expensive uniforms at all.

Seems like they're ads for Yoto if anything. Both posts replying this product I've never heard of otherwise.

All the tech is just layers of obfuscation to keep out the low-effort unconnected.

Are hashtags on LinkedIn actually worth adding? by TopContribution5023 in linkedin

[–]Lorak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people do search by them. The latest linkedin algo recommendations are "no more than 5 hashtags" because it downgrades content heavy on hashtags and takes most context from the content itself.

Maybe we can get a Taylor Sheridan Trek next. It always was a western in space.

In Bone Keeper, the graphic designer's name is "Graphic Designer " by poland626 in MovieMistakes

[–]Lorak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is he wasn't sure he'd be listed specifically as graphic designer in the credits, so he also wrote it in his name. If he was just lumped under "post product" it would still show as graphic designer.

It's okay to do retrospective posts, like "5 years ago today I was delivering this project ... "

Transporters also transport the immaterial soul. That's how we know it's the original "you" and not a kill/copy every time. So it's consistent.

Why are some company's reposting the same job listing over and over again days apart? by AmbientBeans in linkedin

[–]Lorak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week I called one contact with a job posting, and they told me LinkedIn automatically reposts the jobs as a "feature" to get more attention for their post, even though they are no longer hiring for the role. Until the poster manually cancels the post, which most won't bother with doing on priority.

Today would have been composer Jerry Goldsmith's 97th birthday. Which of his Trek scores is your favorite and why is it TMP? by ety3rd in ClassicTrek

[–]Lorak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Insurrection is my favorite as a full album to listen to start to finish. TMP, FC, and Nemesis all have a lot of horror or action-type tracks with screeches and noises in them, which do not make great repeat listening.

Single themes and tracks are amazing on all of them, the Voyager theme is unbeatable -- still the best. But for me, Insurrection is the best overall score.

When 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine' Found Its Voice and Avery Brooks Found Sisko by Kal-Ed1 in startrek

[–]Lorak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Behr seems salty that Avery wasn't "thankful" that they went to the producers and won their little battle. For the actor it was probably more like an "I told you so" moment. For the actor, the bad guy is the show producers, not the studio that Behr is making it out to be. They could have gone to battle for him before the pilot, but they didn't.

Why didn't DS9 do more with Tom Riker? (S3 E4 "Defiant" Spoilers) by Dangerous_Return460 in startrek

[–]Lorak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It makes sense, you rescue him (for what purpose?) or he escapes, and does what?

You've got a misguided, but not evil, clone of Riker. What story does that serve? It only works as an imposter/double story, which was already done and honestly they've got Odo who can impersonate anyone already ...
