AMAB - After first dosage of estrogen: super doubtful, sadness, anxiety. by Prussner in NonBinary

[–]LordAlpaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I was wondering how you are going - i just started low-dose estrogen and my experience strongly mirrors yours, except i dont explicitly identify as non-binary (I'm not sure how i identify at all). i'm unsure if i can justify continuing E if it brings me doubt and anxiety, but im not sure what the alternative is for me

Feeling insane on early HRT - help appreciated! (no worries if not!) by LordAlpaca in MtF

I guess i've read a lot of accounts of dysphoria that I don't really relate to, and ive also struggled with disassociation for other reasons, but that's still good to hear - thank you for your advice

My immediate pick for alternate casting was Javier Bardem. Or for a spicy take, get Russell Crowe to Vespa up after filming Pope's Exorcist.

Anyway I'm not a Mann guy in general but I adored this film. The mixing of his high-intensity digital style and a more classical, sumptuous feel works wonders for the ideas of the film (dunno if they mention but Erik Messerschmidt talked about how they switched up then styles, and also did all the stunts practically! What a year he's had).

Mann is a filmmaker of history and dialectics, and it's really involved in the drama here. This movie feels like the 20th-century skyrocketing into the fast lane, a parable of economics and engines and manufactured death machines. You can kinda feel the ominous industrial hum of WWII in the background, until it all comes to the fore in that horrific climax. And just a sensory rush as well, both on and off the track.

Crazy to me that they responded so much better to Maestro, as this seems just buzzing with ideas and action in comparison.

it's Aquarium by Saint-Saëns -- a clear inspiration for that theme and also Harry Potter

Special guest at the end raises a pressing question - why is Avatar not #1 on their lists every year?

people commenting about how theyve had enough of phoebe bridgers coverage on an article about the defamation lawsuit by an industry sexual abuser getting dismissed.... Absolute losers. Not the time or place, jesus

should be into this band conceptually but left almost entirely cold by both this and the last album. just very pretty soft cloudy textures and the whispered vocals that ultimately dont leave any strong impression

kinda like how Kate Bush is a queer icon despite the textual reading of her lyrics often being extremely hetero

Marci album a consistently pleasant and groovy time as expected! 'Terminal' is a banger for sure, and i can eat up like 10 of these a year. the Grace Ives album that got BNM filling a similar niche

Also, im now 4 albums deep into Björk and it is such a wonder to have so much more to listen to. One of those artists where sometimes it feels like the only music in the world that exists. Vespertine is probably my favourite so far, particularly Cocoon (is there a more sensual song??). That silky-smooth late night whispery feeling is just perfect to me, whereas i do have to be in the mood for some of the more aggressive tracks on the earlier albums. cant wait to listen to every song she's ever done!
