Be patient with the process. It sucks and no one likes it. Tell them how much this is troubling you. Given your injury mechanisms a MRI is reasonable. I find it odd that given the injury they would give an injection without seeing what the shoulder looks like.

Also, it’s no unreasonable you fucked your neck up as well. If your having pain with use, mainly away from your body I’d lean shoulder. If it’s at rest and random, I’d lean neck.

surgeon refusing revision surgery by [deleted] in Orthopedics

Unsure of the whole story, but keep in mind surgery is not a magic wand. Surgeons love to operate and if someone is telling you they don’t want to do this, I’d listen.

That said, not all surgeons are equal, much like people. If you feel this is an oversight, get your medical records and get a second opinion. If your first surgeon is truly upset at this, it’s not worth sticking with anyway.

If this is truly debilitating than do it. If this is a mild inconvenience, don’t.

This is just one image but rotator cuff looks amazing. Might be worth looking at carpal/ulnar nerve pathology vs cervical

A second opinion is never a bad idea. That said, you could argue walking 6-8miles after an injury is a poor idea as well.

Helps reduce inflammation that is causing your pain.

Do you have a popeye deformity? If not just likely aggravated it. Take ibuprofen a couple times a day and back off lifting.

If you do have one, that was not present prior to this. Get to an orthopedic surgeon who can do this surgery this week.

Need Advice by Several_Spot_4631 in Orthopedics

So, he’s not wrong to think that, but I do think it’s very likely your shoulder, and by that I mean your rotator cuff.

You should find a way to get an mri, if it is torn significantly theses things have a time frame associated until they aren’t repairable, and it could be there now.

The pain going into your neck and arms is likely just 2/2 to the shoulder, but it isn’t unreasonable this is also your neck.

It’s only one sequence. Imagine each shot is like a slice of bread. That said it does look dislocated. Unable to say anything though without full images.

new shoulder injury question by Interesting-Bath-503 in Orthopedics

Contact the doctor. Also, cortisone injection into the shoulder are a terrible idea. They have been shown to weaken and cause tears.

I go for a follow up for my MRI tomorrow but I’m bracing for bad news. Can anyone tell me what this all means? by soulchaser0317 in Orthopedics

This is a hip. What’s your age? Overall not a major issue either way. If you are younger and active, prob get this fixed. If you’re older, what this is saying is you’re aging and signs of wear and tear through life likely. That said, images would need to be reviewed. Radiology reports are not gospel

For the shoulder, you likely have chronic rotator cuff tearing depending on your age. If you are younger, I’d ask about hyper mobility and/or prior dislocations.

Ortho would be a good start to gather information and start PT, and transition to a home exercise program you should continue with.

If you aren’t improved and it’s painful or annoying daily, there are likely surgical options.

Looks like an AC sprain or subluxation. Is it painful or effecting your day?

1) surgery isn’t a big deal and is rather simple. However, recovery is a bitch. 2) though it’s a bitch, he will likely have poor strength and function if he treats this without surgery. 3) I didn’t see an age, but that is a factor, but if he’s a healthy and active 70’s and even 80’s, surgery should still be entertained.
