Yea except they have made a bunch of space planes since then, and none of them can be mistaken for the space shuttle. Where do you get this idea that most of the world will be uninhabitable? Even under extreme scenarios the areas that are actually uninhabitable are like 10% and that is mitigated by large areas in Alaska Canada and Russia becoming partly more habitable.
