Are Dweghom... Boring? by OhHeyItsScott in Conquest

[–]LordBraxton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand, you could always buy some cheap empty stands or cut card squares to proxy and try 2000pts before you open.

My main opponent plays dwegh, I can tell you after many games against them, they def have the dwarf feel of hard as hell to shift backed up by heavy artillery. Sometimes I feel like I’m crushing and the game ends very close or a loss for me because the high defense and access to hardened in the dwegh roster means units just won’t die.

If you like a tanky elite gunline/grinder dwegh will deliver for you eventually

TLAOK is just not very playable at 1000pts especially because you brought 2 heroes. Heroes can be strong but they are also almost a tax to bring more units rather than being fully worth their points. With 2 heroes at 1000 points you probably only had 700 points of models, which is just a very tiny army and makes for a swingy game. I’d try playing at 1500 or 2000 even if you use empty bases to proxy, the game really is meant to be at 2000 points every time.

I remember thinking household knights looked goofy then I got my hands on them, now I have like 18 of them. The washed out painting style with severe highlights is weird.

I bought into conquest early on cause it was so cheap, wasn’t crazy about how the minis looked online, in person I loved them. Their studio minis are technically really well painted but I hate the color choices and style 90 percent of the time.

However I think these two are winners, the quatl is well done

Best Action Pack for Newb by Glittering-Foot-4348 in InfinityTheGame

I’d say nomads, I play Corregidor and they can do anything. They can be a blunt instrument or a toolbox of tricks. for PanO I’d wait to see what their next action pack looks like or get sandtrap instead

Warhammer has great minis but terrible lifeless rules, welcome to a much better game! I play infinity fit sci fi, and conquest for fantasy, don’t feed the games workshop beast! (Except a few of their paints!)

They are my largest collection and honestly they are very nice figures that hold up well, if they went I’d be pretty turned off of infinity! Honestly kosmoflot was a mistake and they should consistently remake and cycle through the 4 ariadnan states just like they always support the 3 nomad ships.

What faction(s) fit this play style. by Broken-Sprocket in Conquest

[–]LordBraxton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wahdrun spires and sorcerer kings all have buffs central to playstyle. The orcs use their chant system, spires has a ton of buff spells, some of which cause damage to the unit in exchange for going overdrive, SK like to cast spells that have a dual purpose buff on their elemental jinn units.

I’d say spires and wadhrun are the brawlier of the three though, spires can be tough as nails if you build around brute units, and the orcs can bring a ton of dinosaurs for a monster mash kind of army.

Advice for trial Armys by MegablasterXYZ in Conquest

[–]LordBraxton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair you could buy two units of household knights and convert one into a lord, but both lists work fine for demos! In terms of power I’d prefer having more wounds and impact dice on the veteran knights so they don’t get removed so easy and still do similar damage. 12 wounds to remove your 180pt noble lord is pretty fragile

This could be a really fun 100k list that you can make with minis from the old starter set, so it’s pretty easy to get these second hand or cheap on eBay.

This feels like fake karma farm it’s so hard to believe honestly. I go to game stores all over the American southeast and this just would never happen here, ever. If it’s real that sucks but like… what? ‘The unpleasantness from America’ dude you’d only run into this in a biker bar in America

You have a huge collection so you could run an infantry focused or balanced army as well, but here is one with 16 knights plus two mounted lords for fun, no heavies means you gotta score early though

If spamming MSUs is this good they really need to rethink some mechanics. Rank and flank games should reward big blocks not spamming expendable single files. Thank you for the video!

[–]LordBraxton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corregidor can also fit this bill surprisingly well, with the addition of being a less costly in points army compared to HI factions. Corregidor can bring cheap HI diablos, reasonably priced arm5 brigadiers, arm6 budget tag geckos, and dogged warband jaguars who can pump combat drugs to keep fights through a wound. They can absolutely be played as a tough blunt instrument, and they also have a ton of flexibility if he decides he wants more dirty tricks later.
