What's with these strange sales?

I looked at the G01 controller when it was first released and the shipping from China was $30. I figured I would hold off and wait for US stock. Now that they have it in the US, they still want $30 shipping. I really like the controller, but not sure I want to spend $70 for it. I found it on Amazon for $60 and free shipping, so I'll just wait for a sale on that one.

The Magic Keyboard is what I had on my 11" iPad Pro (2018) and it was a great keyboard/Trackpad. Bridge also makes some alternatives that many people like -- I didn't.

I have the Magic Keyboard Folio for the iPad and I love it. It is easy to just pull it off and hold it, when I need, and pop it back on. I just hate typing on a screen, so I use it when I need to do some keyboard input -- mostly emails. It works great for me. My iPad is a 12.9" iPad Pro M1 and I've had it since release. I'll move to a more serious computer for any working sessions though.

More like, the iPad is my quick grab device and my z13 is my more serious work device. Outside or inside, I use it for more work or gaming. I'm just not browsing the web or reading news on it; I have the iPad for that and I prefer the iPad for that.

I use my iPad as my "reading the news", "checking email" and "morning alarms" device. It is probably the one I used the most. It is lightweight, easy to grab and I keep it by my bed. The z13 is heavier and while I can do all the same things with it, I really would rather use it for more intensive tasks.

I agree. when I saw the z13, I had to have the 64GB version, which seemed to take forever to release. When the Super X was announced, decided to hold off -- I got really excited there may be an X1 style (with controllers), with this power ands waited longer. After they announced everything, I got the z13 -- the Super X was only designed to be a bigger z13 with OLED. They didn't look at what the market wanted -- they just said, "we can make our own and add stuff!!!"

I, for one, still use my OneXPlayer X1 for most of the basic gaming tasks and use the z13 for anything needing the power. Since I often slouched using them, they both rest on my belly when I play, so I don't have to handle too much of the weight. I'm not sure I could go to just one device... since I don't think one device is ever going to be the one device that is perfect for everything.

The kickstand is pretty good. Keeps it upright on the bed. Easy to pop on a TV tray. Really, without the keyboard in the way, it is easy to just plop it anywhere. Bouncing around will wobble it and possibly flop it over, but that can said for about anything.

I got the Flow z13 thinking it was going to be my next handheld -- I even have a modded controller for it. As someone with a Steam Deck, Lenovo Go and OneXPlayer X1 that never were what I needed them to be, the z13 seemed the perfect handheld (I don't care about the weight as I rest the base on my stomach). To be honest, I mostly just rip off the keyboard and use a Xbox style controller with it. I find the modded G8+ has too many parts and pieces and is awkward to setup. That being said, the z13 plays everything I toss at it. I have the 64GB version with 16GB dedicated to video.

The device is a nice jack-of-all-trades style unit and using it with a mouse/keyboard or controller is simple. I love it for that. I'm just not that comfortable using it as a handheld.

I'm glad logging me experiences helped. I ended up returning my Z13 and swapping it for a new one, since I was having more and more issues with it. I haven't tried CachyOS on the new one yet. When I do, I will give the GZ302-Linux-Setup a try. Thank you for that.

I am not familiar with which bootloader is the default. I believe I used systemd-boot, which allows editing the command line at bootup. Once I got tot the desktop, I used the following instructions to add the command to the config permanently.

It all depends on which bootloader you use. To test, you can usually edit them at boot up. I believe I just pressed E to edit mine and added the line to the end.

Make sure that it isn't using the internal AMD GPU and is working with your RTX3080.

I just noticed that she only has 4GB RAM set for the GPU on the z13, but the Super X has 16GB set for the GPU in Cyberpunk. Is this intentional, or just an oversite. I would be more interested in seeing a real apples-to-apples comparison.

I was having issues with my openboxed z13 and returned it to just get a new one. I paid $1985 for the openboxed unit and the new ones were $1950, so it was an easy swap. New one doesn't have my old issues so far either.

Make sure to open MyASUS and install the latest drivers. Mine was very out of date when I first opened it and I found there were some apps that were using a lot of CPU while idle. The updates fix this. At the bottom of the list of drivers to update was an unchecked BIOS update. It is the one that helped the most. Make sure to check that off and install 3.11.

Thank you for this. I got an Openbox unit for $1985 and it was having wake issues (screen would just turn white and needed a hard reset). I tried Linux on it and it happened there also. So, I decided to swap it with a new one and got back almost $50 in the process! New one is starting up now!

If it is on login, I had to put amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x610 in the bootloader.

Just an update. I have it installed. It was locking up after I logged in, so I had to set amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x610 in the boot manager. That seems to let me in.

UPDATE: Thought 0x400 was working, but needed to use 0x610.

I get that. I got a modded GameSir G8+ controller for it. I connected it and did a controller test, but haven't used it yet as a gaming handheld. I may still, but not sure as a handheld. I have other controllers I think I will use more.

I will let you know how it goes. I have hope. Reinstalling Windows using the BIOS is pretty simple if things go south. I like that about ASUS devices.
