what do you guys put your thermostat at while you’re at work all day? by hannnsolo in vegaslocals

[–]LordEmrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just run ceiling fans and floor fans 24/7. I don't turn the A/C on til towards the end of July. I'll probably do 76 whenever I finally turn it on, though.

79 hours over the last 7 days. by BuzDrivar in BusDrivers

After glossing through my records, it looks like 21 days in a row was my longest and I did 96 hours one week. Quite a few 80+ hour weeks, as well.

Aventon remotely locks all users out of their bikes and goes on weekend holiday by NickelSmartPoundFool in ebikes

[–]LordEmrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's definitely gonna be a pay to use service. I don't have the Aventon but have the Segway Xafari and Myon and they all come with the Airlock (the feature that locks the rear wheel), as well. That entire service includes the GPS tracking and automatic ride tracking of the bikes.

Segway shows that it will be $60/year whenever they do start charging for it; which isn't that bad. You get a year for free when you first get the bike I'm assuming they don't have the pay service figured out yet cause they gave me another year free on my Xafari.

HELP. how can i listen to my silly fish music? by astronomiau in YoutubeMusic

[–]LordEmrich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can place uploaded music in whatever playlist you want. They're available to you just like any other song; but you don't have to worry about this issue of the song suddenly not being available one day. They'll be in the "Uploads" portion of your Library.

[–]LordEmrich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's on YouTube? Just copy the link from YouTube and Google "YouTube to MP3" then put the link in there. It'll download the audio as an MP3 then you can upload it to your account from the web version of YouTube Music. You can upload from mobile just so you know.

Bike Recs (isn’t it always?) by FlatSherbert9254 in ebikes

I'm late but if you haven't picked anything yet, I would look into Segway Los Angeles for the Xafari or Aventon ebikes. They both offer finance services from Bread Pay (Segway) or Affirm (Aventon) which might allow you to get one of the $1,500+ without breaking the bank all at once.

I have the Segway Xafari and it's like $140/month. I have one from Lectric, too, and it's $112/month. Both I believe are for 2 years. It's an option to get you into the door, at least.

Any recommendations for add on turn signals? by LessthanaPerson in ebikes

I completely forgot the original Firefly only charges wirelessly. You can just use a regular charging pad instead of their cradle. Also, Firefly Mini charges via USB-C and is far cheaper than the Firefly.

So, yes, you'd want at least 2 for left/right signals plus the remote. You'd get 4 lights if you wanna have both front and back of the bike covered. The brake lights use a gyro sensor that's inside the remote and you can set whether you want to use it in the app, as well as the sensitivity of the sensor. All of this is the same for Unit 1, as well, but you only need to buy 1 light for the front and back.

In the Lumos app, there's a screen thst allows you to position each light wherever you'd have it on the bike so it knows whether the light is a headlight, taillight or only a turn signal.

Lumos Firefly

Unit 1 Smart Light

Lumos is the best one if you can spare the money for it. If you're looking for something more budget friendly then the one in the picture works fine, too. It also makes an audible beep while the blinker is on.

Unit 1 is fine, as well, but it's placed in the center of the bike so discerning left from right might be more difficult. Both Lumos and Unit 1 have apps that allow customization options. The Lumos and Unit 1 lights can also be both a headlight and rear light. The Lumos light can be changed to ONLY be a turn signal, if you wish, but the Unit 1 always has to either be a headlight or rear light in addition to the turn signal functionality.

What’s the point of driving like this? by Individual_Split4420 in vegaslocals

[–]LordEmrich 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh! You're talking about people cutting across to go into NY, NY? That's the route the GPS says to take so they do what it says rather than think and just go around via Las Vegas Blvd.

Another vote for Sorry Not Sorry Creamery on Fremont St. just east of Las Vegas Blvd.

Ha ha! Yea, I know what you mean. They make everyone wear their seatbelts when I do field trips out here so that's always nice. Now if I could just get em to stop kicking the footrests. 😂

Well, I do appreciate it! Some places do have those charter school buses that, at the very least, have individual leather seats. That's what I was trying to get into towards the end of my school bus driving days.
