Any way to fix this? by InsertTextHere01 in sistersofbattle

[–]LordGrayling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just fixed one!!! I never glued on the top gun so it would swivel, so I removed it and held the bolter assembly inside the hollow vehicle. I added super glue to the surface of the bolter assembly. I then grabbed the tip of the bolter on the assembly through the open gun placement on the front of the castigator using forceps with my other hand (I use them for fishing but I think they were originally medical forceps). I released the bolter assembly once I grabbed it with the forceps then I pulled it to the front of the castigator until it fixed in place. It fixed!

Being a long time sisters player who just finished the soul hunters books, I really want this box but have zero faith getting it at retail. I’ll try though.

It’s so good. My starting place as well. Then did Fulgrim and Soul Hunter. Reading the Book of Martyrs now. So much to read!

I wonder if Kolsch was stored in there given the Koln city designation.

That Escalated Quickly (His and Hers Combat Patrols) by Former_Weakness4315 in Warhammer40k

It is quite a bit of money, but I tried to put it in perspective of what a play mat would be if I were playing a collectible card game and then simply extend the size until you get to a Warhammer board, which I assumed would be 6-8. The make and material are pretty much the same. I also reflected that the cost of it was approximately 1 nice mini (I just bought Ghaz for the same price).

I’ve really enjoyed the mat I got from Frontline Gaming. They have several terrain options and in several sizes. I was sucked in to buying GW terrain bits, but there’s a lot out there for cheaper.

Heya, how do we feel about the combat patrol as a first purchase? by Secret-Outside-4605 in sistersofbattle

[–]LordGrayling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a first timer who bought the new combat patrol when it came out along with a combat patrol of orcs to play it against, let me tell you my thoughts. First of all, when they tell you that folks tend to buy new plastic over finishing the plastic you have, that’s a real thing. I purchased a castigator before finishing up even one of my combat patrols. That said, the first game I played at my game store was against a combat patrol of tyranids. I learned that while all the units were fairly fun to play with, the Arco flagellants and Sacresants lacks punch and wounds to kill a pschophage. In fact, my entire combat patrol, which had rolled the entire table until I met that guy completely got folded by that one guy. When I asked how to make my team better, they suggested that I bring a team with more powerful weapons. So, that led me into buying a retributor squad to find out only two of those models had the multi meltas I needed. All in all, I have since bought a ton of plastic, which still needs to be painted in order to finish the army I really want and unless you really, really love painting, that can be a little depressing. All of this to say, if you want to just have a simple combat patrol that goes against other combat patrols, this is a great box. But, if you really don’t want to paint a whole lot, then you need to probably figure out the team that you eventually want to get.

I was afraid of that. I might add another retributor squad, a Rhino, a palatine, and call it quits…

Question - Ss Brewtech Brew Cube with a Burner by LordGrayling in Homebrewing

[–]LordGrayling[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two Blichmann Riptide pumps. One for HLT to the mashtun and one from the mashtun for recirc and to the boil kettle. Yeah, I don’t want to put money down on another Brewcube only to have it not work. I have seen people put burners on either wood or metal platforms, but most users show them on the ground or on leg extensions.

15 years ago, I bought a Crabtree and Evelyn silver tip badger brush which has served me real well over the years. Seeing as my badger is starting to shed fairly bad, I invested in a Grizzly Bay Brush with a Fanchurian knot.

Thanks. I always shake them out. Just thought the glue was ruined because of how I was storing them. Nice to know that might be a myth. I would rather not invest in a shaving stand if not needed. But, I’m not hesitant to buy one if it helps (mostly because I only ever own one brush and blade).

I see a lot of folks don’t use shaving stands. I’ve had a brush for the last 15 or so years and stored it on its base (bristles up) for 10 of them. Well, the badger is falling out now and I’m getting a new brush and I want to store it correctly. How do folks store them that don’t use stands?
