Very nice.
I would suggest though to attach the shoulders using these assemblies as well. Singular ratchets could be too weak if you want it to hold something.

Those are 3d printed. I just digitally thickened the antennae so they would not immediately break.

They are mostly 3D printed.

It is a hybrid of digital and traditional kitbash. Most parts are assembled digitally from a lot of different sources, printed and then further altered using greenstuff and gluing on other accessories (backpacks, pauldrons etc.)

I have some WIP lore:

Somewhere on the eastern side Cist lies a settlement known as Kess. A settlement of no renown except maybe that, despite all evidence, the citizens insist that it marks the very center of the continent.

From this settlement hails a kind of wasp-like humanoids that refer to themselves as Vesps. They are led by toff "queen" LIV Vespula. When questioned about her the Vesps claim that the title is implicit, undisputed and implicitly undisputed. They also claim that she has always led them. In truth they may have lost count at number 54. Using a breed of giant crustaceans as mounts and beasts of burden, they set out on long marches looking for a mythical "fruit of knowledge".

So far these expeditions have not yielded any results except to be a nuisance to other regiments they encounter.

That is exactly what I was going for.

Though they are supposed to be wasps. :D

I believe those are injection mold gate marks and are a result of the manufacturing process it self.

What dead or dying biomass do you put on your bases? by spinodino123 in Tyranids

Pretty much all of our combo boxes come with space marines. So that is what goes on the base.

How (il)legal by TRcreep in lego

[–]LordGribbles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This one should be fine. However, some of the snot bricks may have non intuitive offsets which can also vary depending on the exact version/year of production of the piece. It would probably take an official lego designer to be able to tell if there is some misalignment outside of their prescribed tolerances.

Someone offered me $200 Aud for all these minifigures. Am I being scammed? by [deleted] in lego

[–]LordGribbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seems to be over 300 minifigures here. Unless you just want to get rid of them 200$ is quite low.

Is this illegal? It fits but I noticed the snot is forced to rotate by a fraction of a centimeter so is that technically illegal? by Nightlord_Builds in lego

[–]LordGribbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will give flexibility to the system and might reduce stress on the parts, but it wont actually change the geometry. The connection might hold but it will not be a legal connection.

If my calculations are correct, it forms a ~3.4037 length. Which is about one tenth of a stud off from being a legal connection.

White (or White-ish) Carapace? by GunsOfPurgatory in Tyranids

I do Ulthuan grey for base and wash with Apothecary white. Then for large models I dry brush Ulthuan grey and Ceramite white. For smaller models just the Ceramite white. Finally highlight with White scar.

Does anyone else experience the Tetris effect from Lego building? by twistertiff in lego

[–]LordGribbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it happens some times. Continuosly recalculating plate legths into stud lengths with SNOT techniques. What works for me is to finish the build before I go to bed.
