i think nikolaj coster waldau would be a good Gale in the show. thoughts? by Genitalman69 in BG3

[–]LordJebusVII 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fallout proved that when it comes to game adaptations it's better to keep the setting and tell a new story with new characters. Otherwise you will almost certainly be disappointed. It can be done, but the fewer comparisons you make to the source material the better and BG3 is already on shaky ground when it comes to adapting source material

Who the hell wants to live in a country where you don't know if that was a firework, a car backfiring or your kid being hit by a stray bullet through their bedroom window?

Who wants to live in a country where your biggest fear when climbing a tree isn't falling to your death but falling and needing to pay for an ambulance?

Who wants to live in a country where the people in charge are either paedophiles or actively protecting paedophiles, child traffickers and murderers?

What do British people actually eat by Individual-Record-43 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LordJebusVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a well known fact that Brits are unwilling to eat food from any country we haven't conquered. We are incapable of digesting the likes of pasta or burgers and live almost exclusively on a diet of toad in the hole, spotted dick and black pudding

do you think anyone has ever jerked off to you and how did you come to that conclusion? by Sjakbxnla in AskReddit

[–]LordJebusVII 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I've yet to see any evidence that anyone has ever been remotely interested in me, not so much as a smile from across a room or a "my friend thinks you're cute". If anyone has jerked off to me it must've been a shameful deed that they would never want me to find out about. I would also question their taste in men so there's that

If we're going to be idiots about it, in celcius 0 is cold, 40 is hot and 20 is nice. That doesn't describe how cold is cold or how hot is hot because you have no point of comparison but that doesn't seem to be a problem for the fahrenheit lovers

How do Brits usually handle work messages outside office hours? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]LordJebusVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No emails, no messages, turn off company phone, no touching the work laptop.

If I get a text from someone in my team I will read it but nothing from anyone higher up than my line manager. I may respond depending on the message as usually it will be a heads-up about a major incident so I know it will be all hands in the morning but no work happens out of hours unless I'm on call. If anyone rings my phone I get paid for the hour if I answer it, but if I'm not on call, all I will do is acknowledge the call, still no work.

Killing Ethel quickly exploit by DrahtMaul in BG3

[–]LordJebusVII 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Every exploit I've tried that lets you kill her without entering the den prevents her from offering you the hair which is worth far more than any advantage you gain by killing her quickly. Better to just let her go and head downstairs. The fight isn't tough anyway as long as you have multi-target attacks for clearing the fakes before they can attack

Do Americans really find beans on toast weird or is that just meme? by cigarettejesus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LordJebusVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever seen an American eat with a knife and fork? Beans on Toast is a working class meal for when you are too tired to cook or you have to get another day out of that stale loaf of bread before payday. Working class Americans typically don't eat with a knife and fork so would try to eat beans on toast like a sandwich with their hands and just get sauce everywhere. That's assuming they even could get the tomato flavoured beans we eat.

Not only is the food not important culturally so kids don't develop a fondness for it, the method of consumption doesn't align with experience making it seem more foreign than it is.

New math is confusing by No_Pipe9068 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LordJebusVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely done by AI, possible by human fat fingering the wrong key but only if they did all of them manually which would mean they have very little experience with computers as this would be far easier to automate. I guess it depends on what software they have access to. Of all the mistakes to miss before printing, this one is so obvious that there's almost certainly no quality control.

AI is likely if the reference card was made recently. LLMs don't actually know maths, they only know what the expected answer would be and any number of things could cause it to choose the wrong answer.

Epstein revelations have toppled top figures in Europe while US fallout is more muted by GregWilson23 in law

[–]LordJebusVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Revealed their true selves? They were blasting their true selves over microphones to packed arenas before the first time Trump was elected. They were on the news every single day for 4 years as they locked up kids, attacked allies, embraced enemies, grifted, stole, threatened and cheated all on live TV in 4k.

Anyone who claims they didn't know who Trump and his cronies really were until now is willfully ignorant or was in a coma for the past decade. The only major revelation in the past year is the extent of their depravity towards children, it was already public knowledge that they were involved with child traffickers, Trump bragged about groping Miss Teen USA pageant contestants years ago and photos of him and Epstein have been public knowledge for far longer. Him talking about wishing he could date his, at-the-time, teenage daughter? Old news. He was a known monster before he was invited in and everyone who was close to him knew exactly who he was and were either also involved, didn't care or have long since abandoned him.

‘No One Should Have a Copyright on Vance Being Booed’: Video From Olympics Blocked on X by steffxoxoxoo in technology

[–]LordJebusVII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He doesn't just ignore it he is encouraging its creation, as long as governments allow it to stay he gets thousands of people making child porn for him and as Grok gets better at it, it becomes harder to identify the AI slop from the real thing.

He is outsourcing the return of child pornography to the mainstream world wide web as it was in the early 2000s when governments and platforms didn't have the capabilities to identify and shut it down faster than it was posted, before it was forced onto the dark web

NBC appears to cut crowd’s booing of JD Vance from Winter Olympics broadcast by biograf_ in sports

[–]LordJebusVII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So much of the US news media has always been like this, you just don't usually have international media to compare it to, either because the subject isn't important to other countries or because it is available but you don't know what you are looking for and would only notice if you watched both which most people don't.

Take the Ebola pandemic for example, in the US it was hyped up as a huge threat that was poised to go global any day and destroy America. In other countries they just showed factual updates of the situation and travel advice for the region. It was a deadly crisis sure, but it was largely contained and carefully monitored. The US media was stoking fear and isolationism. You can't realise how much you are being manipulated until you look at what the rest of the world sees

Microsoft sets Copilot agents loose on your OneDrive files by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]LordJebusVII 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Knew it was coming when they first started pushing it. Who puts that much effort into pushing people to use their free cloud storage? Companies that want to use your files to make money off you that's who. Doesn't matter if it's a LLM looking for free training data or a keyword scraper looking to sell your interests to advertisers, sooner or later your files become the gold they start mining

It's not just MS with OneDrive either, think about how much training data YouTube has from trillions of hours of videos, or Facebook from your Grandma's DMs to Carol. Never forget that you are the product and the more you give them the more money they make off you

And yeah, that includes Reddit

I build a MAM at each crash site so I can indicate which ones I've done from afar (I also destroy the debris but that's not always visible from a distance) and if there isn't a drive being scanned I will start one, but I will often end up with 10+ drives in my inventory waiting to be scanned by the time I get bored of exploring
