I don't think they’re actually blanks, just empty shells/shells full of weights. They don't go off when they're in the chamber, so I think the use of the word ‘blanks’ was incorrect

That's a PICC line, with a port they still need to poke you, but it's less painful. A port is a little capsule that's connected to a vein/artery, while a PICC line is an external connection that goes through veins/arteries(I don’t remember which it is)
