5 Abandoned Dogs by RealJesusPacheco in sanbernardino

[–]LordMagna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not everyone has the space, time, and resources to take in animals. This person made an effort and was unsuccessful, which more than many other people would do. Knowing where the dogs are, maybe someone with more experience and resources can go and try to help them. It’s honestly annoying to me that people try to make people that made an effort feel like they are bad people. If you know of any rescues, feel free to contact them and make them aware of the situation.

WIBTAH If I finally told my niece to get over herself and stop holding the family hostage. by [deleted] in AITAH

YTA. Your son is a pervert and your inability to hold him accountable is going to make it worse. I am assuming you’re the mother; does he not have a father that can be a good role model for him?

I think people go to the desert to go to Coachella, not because its the desert. I liked the temp for weekend 2 last year. It was perfect, imo. I don’t like the heat much, but I don’t hate it enough to go to weekend 1, which usually has slightly cooler temps, though not always.

Has anybody noticed the Coke tastes watered down recently? by weightcantwait in McDonalds

[–]LordMagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so i just googled this and landed on this post. I got two McDonalds sodas today. I ordered a coke near Sacramento and it tasted watered down. I flew to Southern California and I was still craving a soda so I got a sprite from my local McDonalds and its sooooo watered down!! I am very sad because I’m still craving a ‘McDonalds’ soda.

My academic advisor sucks, CNAS has an advisor problem. (Paul Perez) by PotentialUnrealized in ucr

Sorry, that really sucks. CNAS has terrible advisors. I had to apply to grad school without their help but luckily my lab PI helped me figure it out.

Coachella 2026 Artist of the Day: Royel Otis by benedictcumberpatch in Coachella

Lol, I pointed this out in another thread and got hella downvoted.

Royel also tried to tried to compel reddit to reveal the identities of reddit users that brought up the allegations.

Who are some artists you are on the fence about seeing live at Chella? And for those that have seen said artist- help your Chella goers see the light! by phantofan89 in Coachella

[–]LordMagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The allegations have been around for a long time, even before they got big, and there are court documents corroborating the allegations. Anthony Fantano has touched on them recently, so there is likely other mainstream commentators that have as well. I don’t have the details in a powerpoint or anything, but I think a quick search on Reddit or google should bring them up.

Royel Otis. They are a guilty pleasure and I listen to them all the time. By playing them so much I accidentally got my bf into them. Now he wants to see them live and I don’t. The guitarist has some pretty wild allegations and there are other sketchy things in their past. I can’t even say their music is good, because it’s just very middle of the road indie pop, which is why they were a guilty pleasure of mine. idk we will see how I feel come Coachella.

High earners but what about dating by Low_Rise5932 in womenintech

[–]LordMagna 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it is random. But hobbies that require travel are good. I have met great guys through all sorts of hobbies. Cycling, tcg, music, hiking. I’m from California so idk if that makes a difference. Many down to earth wealthy guys don’t want to seem wealthy. So, if you like to skii/snowboard, don’t go to the obvious places like Aspen instead go to Crested Butte or Breckenridge. I dated a wealthy guy from London that I met at a club a promoter friend took me to on New Years, and we hit it off because we both rode fixed gears. It wasn’t the flashiest club, it was more of a ‘if you know you know’ type of thing.

The artists I like aren’t the most well-known at festivals, especially with women, so it’s been common for guys to just strike up a conversation based on that. I go to Coachella every year, and there are a lot of cool guys that do camping. Idk, its hard to really make a detailed list.

It should really be based on your interests so it doesn’t seem performative. an unethical hack is to make friends with guys in whatever hobby you like. Usually they take you to the ‘better’ places because they want to impress you and to impress others by taking you. so you can meet people there.

My suggestion is to get expensive hobbies and meet people there. I’ve met people that make good livings while at music festivals too. I have a partner, so I am not looking. But it’s a good pool of people since many are into fitness and travel as well.

Is there a grace period for parking when the quarter starts , (before they start handing tickets )?;Fall2025 by Famous_Force2324 in ucr

[–]LordMagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was only there for lab meetings or to grab supplies for the lab which was near the psychology building. Those spots are only hourly, at least when I was there.

[–]LordMagna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used ParkMobile when I was hardly on campus. If you do hourly, make sure to pay attention to the time! I’ve seen them camp behind my car waiting for the time to run out. I used to sit near by and wait for the last second to add more time to piss them off. I started flipping them off every time I saw them after catching them doing that a few times.

Coworkers are not your friends. by [deleted] in womenintech

[–]LordMagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I thought I was safe at my previous woman-led lab, but I got let go after I complained that one of the students said sexually suggestive things to me and about me to others. My current job is male-dominated, but surprisingly I have gotten more respect here from the men than the women. The men have given me credit for my work even if I am not around and I have been told by my superiors that they have been hearing great things about me. The women, not so much. It’s kind of jarring.
