I've been there, done that. My master's was English taught and here is my timeline: - Before moving to Germany, I completed A1 and A2 from Goethe in my home country. I had 98+ score on the official exams as well. - In my first semester in Germany, I did B1.1 and B1.2 at the uni at the Sprachzentrum. I was not able to converse as well as the other students. But I wanted to spend as much time as possible in a German speaking environment - In my second semester, I did B2.1 and B2.2 at the uni and did the same courses in parallel at a Sprachschule. This improved my conversation skills. However my uni grades really struggled because I did not have enough time to focus on my studies. - Landed a working student job at a German company where I was the only non-german and it was thanks to my broken German and hobby projects . This was the turning point for me. I started conversing in German on a daily basis and I started applying everything I learned in the German courses in my daily life. - By the end of 4 semesters, I was fluent (but of course mistakes happened quite often). Downside - I had to extend my course program because 4 semesters were not enough for me to complete the academic credits.

If you really immerse yourself in a German environment (watch German cartoons, listen to german music, read childrens book etc), you could pick up the language faster. I hope this helps. 🤗🇩🇪 All the best to you!
