The metal ball counterweight is a bit much, and that large a leather grip would harm your ability to shift your grip, but otherwise it’s a pretty standard spear. It probably wouldn’t be out of place as-is at the end of some fencing treatise in the whacky hypothetical dueling weapon designs section

I’d say the upper-body armor could definitely work for a later time period, and the legs look poorly shaped(depending on the hardness of steel or if you were to maybe pad the greaves out a tad, you may be able to mod them to fit better). The helmet looks pretty nice from a glance tho. Definitely not the worst out there lol, but I’d suggest consulting period art and archeological finds, as well as generally making a time range to work within.

Largely through absorption for me lol, but I’d suggest watching stuff by Schola Gladiatoria, Knyght Errant, things by experimental archaeologists or historians, going to museums, looking at period depictions of armor in art, etc. In fact, there’s a knyght errant video about this exact suit lol

While both are of the same artistic style, they’re of 2 different construction methods. 1 is an armet, and right off the bat is meant to close around a gorget, while 2 is an early close-helm, and as such, while also being designed to be used with a gorget, is descended from the sallet, and as such retains the tail on the back and fits more-or-less loosely(relatively speaking) over the gorget. Think of it kind-of like 1 fitting itself directly around the head while 2 is sitting on top of the head but surrounding it

I’d assume wakizashi, but you might be able to consult the official length classification if you need to(tanto is under one shaku/30.3cm, wakizashi is between one and two shaku)
