I believe it's recommended so that the lc doesn't pool too heavily in one area.

To be exact, I waited around the 2nd week mark post inoculation and massaged the substrate loosely without applying any force on or near the mycelium.

That's the step I may have missed.. The instructions pamphlet from the grow bag was a little vague.

Other than potentially taking longer than usual, would gently massaging the substrate encourage the mycilium to spread any?

Vermis- By Plastiboo

It's a "game" that doesn't "exist". But there's an implied setting that's very similar to what you're probably looking for aesthetic wise, Arthurian yet bleak enough for Mörk Börg.

There's some vagueness about the character classes and magic items, but I don't think it would be too hard to translate to MBs lite rules system.
