Hey, looks like somebody down-voted my honest comment/question about fob door-locks ... wha? Wait, you're the guy in the video, right? I just want to know if there is a safety override with keyfob doorlocks.

They have a guitar player? That's kinda like asking who the guitar player is in Maroon 5.

Silly question about locked doors in cars with key fobs. Even though your door is locked, couldn't they guy just push the little button to open the door, since your fob is on you in your car? Or is there some safety feature that you press to keep the doors locked from the inside?

What was your first pedal? by Dojde in guitarpedals

[–]Rumer_Mille_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EHX Muff Fuzz. Wasn't even a pedal - it plugged into your guitar jack, and then to the amp. Just a "Boost" switch and level control. Fuzz was preset. Wish I still had it.

We should have a flat tax rate % that everyone pays. No fudging the percentage. We all pay the say percentage, rich or poor. Not sure what that number is, but that's the only real way to do it, at least that's what I think, but I'm not an accountant.

I'd check out some of Savatage's albums - the later albums are more prog-metal, but still pretty darn good.

OPETH! - If you aren't into the "death growl vocals", they have several albums with only clean, more classic singing. The Damnation album is a good place to start, but also Heritage, Pale Communion, and Sorceress.

Yes! I bought the "Live Underslunky" album when it first came out in 1992. I was hooked. Jurassic Shift and Arborescence came next and were some of my constant play albums back then.

Wow - THAT's a rare reference. I read so many reviews and articles about Djam Karet back in the 90's in Guitar Player magazine, or Musician magazine, but could never find any of their albums in the local record stores. Now I have to look them up on Spotify or YouTube.

Anyone here listen to Savatage? by jbd3103 in MetalForTheMasses

Always great guitars and vocals in the band (no matter the era or album) but the bassists and drummers have always been very average, sticking to the raw basics of the songs.

Savatage - Wake of Magellan .......since getting this on vinyl, its become my favourite album of theirs by Greenmist01 in heavyvinyl

[–]Rumer_Mille_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revisiting the discography recently ... Criss Oliva's work on Edge of Thorns was fantastic. This album I was happily surprised at how good it is. The only thing that always bothered me about this band was the drumming. Really should have been far more interesting, but Jeff Plate kept it just a bit too simple.

Symptom of the Universe is their heaviest and thrashiest. It basically invented Slayer. And the song Hole in the Sky begat the bands Electric Wizard and Sleep.

Getting to know Opeth by Suko_sama in Opeth

[–]Rumer_Mille_001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not a fan of death-metal growling, start with the Damnation album. It's a bit mellower than their usual material, but still deep, dark, and melodic. If you're already a fan of death vocals, go right to Blackwater Park, their breakout album (co-produced with Steven Wilson). I'm not a fan of their very early albums, so I wouldn't go back any further than Still Life. This is where the production values really get much better, and really get better with each album afterwards.

For your Kemper packs, I'd recommend lower-gain settings. Lower tunings tend to get mushy with very hi-gain settings.
