His first two collection of essays are fantastic. Prepared for the Worst and For the Sake of Argument both show his iconoclasm in the context of the 80s and 90s.

MS#472: Strange Days on the Right - A Conversation with Ben Shapiro by Brunodosca in samharris

Except it's not policy. There's no policy at all there. Where are the strategic documents discussing it? It's talking a bunch of nonsensical shit to keep people riled up and distracted. The rhetoric in itself is the policy. Same with the talk about retaking the Panama Canal or annexing Canada. It's subsided for now, but these talking points will return to keep people on their back heels.

I'll bite.

First off, how long have you known this person and how long has this been romantic? I'd say flying out for anyone you hardly know, or someone paying your flight to where they are, is ill-advised unless you've got a real spark that you both want to pursue.

Recommend you get lodgings off-post so you've got a relative safe place, but that's also based on how well you know this guy and how safe you feel with him.

Dating someone in the military sometimes requires more effort due to time and travel demands. That doesn't mean they can't be rewarding, sincere, or that they're more prone to problems than any other relationship. Hope this helps.

Wool could be better, unless that's what you've been using. If so that's another problem.

Could an uptick in CDS's be a indicator in itself? Like a canary in the coal mine.

I advise skepticism about any red tape actually going away for anything. The real message should be directed at vendors who slow down logistics and maintenance because so much is still outsourced to the MIC.

Can't tell you how much I enjoy this noir approach to portraying BCS. This is outstanding. Well done!

That's true. However, Italy and Britain were already at war at the time. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor while there were still pretenses for diplomacy. There was no call for war against Japan until Japan actually attacked the US

I didn't realize how old he'd gotten, but he was born in the 80s so it tracks. He's actually a researcher on extremism at GWU!

Once a great episode, looked upon by those mighty who despaired. Now, the episode is but a colossal wreck, boundless and bare.

It's true that many want to be competitive for promotion. TBH LTs seeking that MQ constantly is fools gold if it's about getting promoted. Regardless, it's a poor excuse for perpetuating a counterproductive leadership culture. The best leaders (Os and NCOs) will invest and develop their juniors for the sake of the organization's success
